Love how the resident tough guy is happy to talk trash on an internet forum but back pedals as soon as he is called out. Typical coward. No doubt he'll respond to this with excessive bravado in order to restore his rightful place as a fully fledged internet badass.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. My buddy pointed out that Blade Runner was loosely based on this. I've never read it, but I'll be checking it in the near future.
I'm right behind you, Mr. Denton.

Never red androids but I have the Electric Sheep screensaver which, although is highly unrelated to the book, is very awesome. I have however read A Scanner Darkly which was fucking awesome, and so was the movie, haters of Keanu be damned.

Neuromancer was fucking awesome, I dont know why I haven't got around to reading Mona Lisa Overdrive and whatever the other book in the series is.

Also, you guys really need to play Uplink. It's probably the best indie game I've ever played. What I love are the opportunities to be chaotic neutral. For instance, one mission you can take is called "Our esteemed colleague wishes to make a donation" where they ask you to break into a dudes bank account and wire a certain amount of money to your employer's account. What I like to do is get the targets account, take out the biggest loan I can, and wire all the money to my employers. Then when they email me saying "THANKS BRO!!! HERE'S YOUR REWARD" I break into their account, take out the fattest loan, and wire all the money to myself icon_smile.gif

just a tip that you won't learn in the tut:

When you start doing riskier hacks your target will put a passive trace on you, which means they will trace you even when you're not connected. To avoid getting caught you have to delete your logs from the machines you bounce through.

so when you're laying out your bounce path, make the first machine "InterNIC". The admin password never changes, it's easy to break, and there's no monitor/trace. Save up and get the best version of Log_deleter, and delete the "routed" log and the "password authenticated" log. DO NOT delete any other logs.

When you get caught, you lose the game, and you have to start all over again.
