Heyyo,

I dunno man.. I doubt it's dead.. sure maybe a decline in pub activity but it won't die for a damn long time (look at CS1.6). There has been some pretty big FPS games that came out as of late, like BC2 which rocks my socks so they would definitely account for a chunk of css players who have moved onto different games.

The number of monthly players has gone up since last time I checked (a year ago maybe).

Its still going quite strong.

I personally like the update, especially updating to the new source engine.
I found the HDR annoying and kinda got in the way of the game, because sometimes when I de-scope, it's too bright, especially on dust2.

There wasn't really anything that I've noticed about community, as it didn't seem to have changed very much. I didn't think having a huge community mattered in a matter of public matches in a sense that, as long as a game can be played with at most 20-30 people.

Counter Strike Source will always be my overall choice in FPS, update or not. Yes, over CS 1.6 as well.

I actually played a bit earlier but I'm not sure if Steam was just bugging out since Steam Community was down but I couldn't find any servers other than that in my history. Played a few rounds of GG and had a blast. Much more than I can say about TF2, CoD, or any other game.

you can just embed it or something with youtube
