Everyone knows SF will always win over Tekken
I'm concerned however with Tekken x Street Fighter (using Tekken's engine) since most of SF characters will lose their super/ultra arts, projectiles will miss due to sidesteps, etc.
The Tekken fanboys will hate SF though cuz they'll lose their juggles, bounds, they have to learn frames, ex cancels, ultras, supers, etc.

Give it the benefit of the doubt, dude.
The people developing the games are game designers - they have their jobs for a reason. No?

that works.
anyway, i am going to give it the benefit of the doubt.
ya sure, there ARE bad game designers...but i think its kinda fucked up to judge a game too much before it even comes out. i mean hell, we have hardly any info on it. it would be different if the game was out and there were reviews and tons of detailed information, but at this point, its WAY to early to try and judge this game.

I like the Street Fighter engine AND the Tekken Engine.
And I'll look at it like that, SFxT is a street fighter game with tekken characters thrown in
And TxSF is a tekken game with street fighter characters thrown in
If you prefer one engine over the other, don't buy both games, it's that simple...

It's a lot more complicated than that, the two games don't fit each other at all mixing them together (even splitting into two seperate games) still isn't going to work.
The only thing having two games will do is please the SF fan base in the 2D one and the Tekken fanbase in the 3D one. The characters aren't going to be anything like they should be because all of their mechanics have been changed...
It's a really stupid idea and it's only there because there is some what of a rivalry between Tekken and SF (fuck knows why - the most fun I've had on Tekken was some bowling mini game) and this is for the idiots that will eat it up and think they can prove which side is better...

You're only thinking of THOSE people, Defiled. Yea there are alot of fanboys for each side, but there are people who enjoy both games. Maybe they don't enjoy them equally but they don't hate on the other one..
Tekken is all right, but I like Street Fighter more, so I'm going to buy the Capcom game. I like Yoshimitsu from Tekken and I look forward to using him on the SF engine. I know he's going to be different as fuck, but at least it's him in some way. Should be interesting. Not a bad idea at all.
What do you mean anyway by "not going to work"? People aren't going to buy the games? Or specific mechanics of a character in it's own game isn't going to work in the game it's visiting? (which is completely obvious) If you really care about your favorite characters mechanics working as they should, then you buy the game where it originated from. Pretty easy choice.

Love how the resident tough guy is happy to talk trash on an internet forum but back pedals as soon as he is called out. Typical coward. No doubt he'll respond to this with excessive bravado in order to restore his rightful place as a fully fledged internet badass.
I like to make werewolf...

I've already said the game will probably sell well. Telling me to 'not buy the game if you don't like it' is probably the worst thing you can say in a video game discussion...Do you say that to everyone who doesn't have a positive opinion on a game?
I'm annoyed because there are better games to be made CvS3 FOR FUCK SAKE FFFFFFFFFFFF-

I'm pretty sure that's WHY they're making two games and not one
It doesn't really matter if the characters are exactly like they should be. The entire point is to be able to try out the characters in a new, unfamiliar fighting engine.
And for those that only like one engine...
Well, I doubt the Street Fighter crowd will care if the Tekken characters don't play the exact way they play in Tekken

I don't see how it's any different from any other cross-genre fighting game.
EDIT: I also don't think it's just there for people to say which is better.
Yeah, there will always be those people, but most people (like me) don't give a shit which is better.

if they announced a new halo game from bungie, i would be excited. that doesn't mean that im saying it IS a good game, that means i have anticipation. you guys were saying that sfxt is gonna suck and you have NO way of knowing that. if you had just said "im really skeptical, i dont really think they can pull this off," then that would have been totally reasonable. but you've already deemed it "a fucking waste."

Well...it is a waste, they should have done something else CVS3
But if they're not using the same mechanics then its not the same character. I couldn't give a shit if a dude looks like Ryu or not, there are things that make Ryu, Ryu... and those are his moves, not a white GI.
Because we're seperating the two games by their fanbase you gotta look at what each fanbase wants. I have no idea what Tekken fans want but I know the majority of fans of Street Fighter would rather see something else (and theres quite a few things over this, irrelevant game.

majority of hardcore SF fans, ya of course...but the majority of people that play video games would rather see sfxt instead of ssf4 turbo or something like that.
if they make cvs3, they wont announce it till around the time mvc3 comes out. from the look of things, ono is putting out a fighting game every year in the spring time. sf4, ssf4, mvc3, sfxt and thennnn... _____
