Well, it got announced. And what we know so far is that your character is predetermined, kind of like Shepard in Mass Effect. So you play some huge douchebag called Hawke.
It isn't a continuation of the first game.
And you can only make a human character.
Gay much?

I don't mind so long as this is an excuse to add more depth to other aspects of the game. Especially some of the roleplaying stuff, because sometimes its much easier when dealing with 1 type of character.
Otherwise its lame.
Still excited regardless, Dragon Age is a modern classic to me.

I think we're going to be stuck with some dumb action hero set in the Dragon Age lore. It worked well with Mass Effect imo. But I expect that typical bad ass character with some shitty voice actor ruining the game for me.
And Dragon Age a classic? Meh, I mean, compared to what came out in it's time and what is still coming out now, it's quite a good game. But compared to the similar genre we had a decade ago (Thinking Baldur's Gate) it's far from being able to be compared to those.

Not playing Baldurs gate makes it difficult for me to compare so...
I havent enjoyed a RPG as much as I enjoyed Dragon Age since...FF10/9? I completed it twice, which is a big deal for me, I havent done that since I cant remember.
Its far better than either fallout 3 or Oblivion for comparitive RPG's.
edit OR Fable series!

I agree with this. And I don't like Final Fantasy so you can imagine how far back it's been since I enjoyed an RPG.

I'm psyched for this. Really liked Dragon Age. It's the best single player RPG I have ever played ( although I really liked Oblivion as well).

I'm kind of happy about there being no continuation. Since the hard drive my save games were on is now fucked up bigtime.

If they changed the combat-system and the way in which you don't have to pick up 215 pointless items to vendor for 50 silver so you can buy more herbs, then it might interest me. What's this though, no Morrigan? I think I'll wait for Mass Effect 3 instead Bioware.

Well seeing you can't carry over saves, I'm guessing Morrigan will have from little to no cameo since there's different endings to the first game, and it'd be quite fail that the choices you made in the first game come out differently in the second, blergh. And they claim that the combat system will be different, seeing how crap the game looks so far though, I wouldn't be surprise to see a button masher.

"One detail that fans will likely be pleased to hear- though not a total surprise- is that the decisions they made in Origins will carry over to the sequel if they have a completed save file on their systems. "
Honestly though I'm not a big fan of the changes being mentioned here. Dragon Age was so much better than Mass effect
.
Also after some thought I've decided the last RPG as good as Dragon Age Origins was Golden Sun.

That reviewer had some good points, but also some completely retarded ones as well.
Spamming 90% of your weapons away for medi-gel and copious amounts of cash was just annoying and time-consuming, and who can honestly say that they carried 14 daggers in their loot bag despite them having as much use as an appendix? But moving on, they really should just be in their own worlds, and I don't think that they should have to pretty much copycat the most basic gameplay elements from ME and duct-tape it onto the game and call it Dragon Age.
One final thing which made me laugh was:
What strengths exactly, better hardware? Shinier buttons? Ridiculous.

It was, no doubt, an evolution, despite the many changes made to what was seen as a winning formula in the original Mass Effect.

Easily imo, ME was barely memorable.
I completed Dragon Age twice, every time I try to replay ME1 I get bored after 10 minutes. Though I do prefer Fantasy over Sci-Fi, so I'm a little biased.

Oh yeah, they look like a steaming pile of shite. I'd try out something like Risen instead if you're looking for another Fantasy-type game to sink your paws into.
