Everything you said is completely true. You may want to check out both forums, as there are some great posts on the issue, on both sides.

Yea I did check it out after posting at first. Its very refreshing to see a discussion like that, especially on the LoL forums, where people are actually putting thought into their posts and not just flaming others who don't happen to share the same opinion.

for the karth example, his E becomes super useful once he gets a rylais and even more so if he gets an hourglass. If they are running you use his ludicrously long range bombs to start slow, then catch him with your aoe and he's permaslowed taking ludicrous damage. if he turns to chase he's already slowed and he's fucked.

I find the largest problem with karthus that his Q does such absurd damage for such a low CD and mana cost and range. He outranges almost everyone in the game with it, and it does enough damage that you can't just sit there and take it.

For me the main problem is the cast time, it's just fast enough that you wont be able to dodge it without boots, which means that if you get him solo mid, you have no choice but to start with boots at lvl 1, which I'm not really a fan of.

If you do have boots (and ms runes make it even easier), though, it can be fun making bad Karthus players waste all their mana trying to hit you with it.

He can also fuck teamfights if his team is smart. Even if he dies he has a pretty significant AOE dps going on over a pretty big area. It's enough to at least make the other team back off or get wiped.

He can farm like nobody's business, with a rylais he can kite like nobody's business, and he can die and still do pretty incredible damage.

He also makes it a very big danger to get low on HP with his ulti and his passive.

Speaking of Vlad, he's definitely worth it. While I have found him to be more fun at 3x3, he's still a great champ for 5x5. He has almost 0 downtime and a great ganker (you'll probably want to go solo lane usually). Although I'm having trouble against some other champs if I'm trying to be offensive, you can get an almost guaranteed kill at level 6 if you've harrased him properly. I usually go heavy AP early and add tankiness lategame. Just remember to hit the shit out of Q every time anyone is in your range.

Well the whole lack of offensiveness thing works out anyways sense i kind of prefer a more passive play stile. Inching up a little at a time as opposed to making huge pushes. I'll be sure get him soon then.
