Well it's out, and I'm playing it. It's actually not bad at all. The evening of launch brought a never ending lagfest though. I assume it's because of the massive flood of players. It's still a brand new server designed for F2P players, so it's not that bad.
My only complaint is that the f2p provides even less than I expected, which wasn't much. I understand neat features like quicker or more convenient fast travel forms are for subscribers only, or can be unlocked with payment, but it's stuff like quests being unavailable that turn me off. They literally do not provide you with enough quests to pass lvl 25-30. You have to purchase a quest pack with turbine points just to continue leveling thru quests. The good news is that, if you don't mind grinding, you can farm the turbine points thru deeds. For example, I've farmed about 250-300 turbine points so far just by leveling to lvl 15. So it's not all that bad, but some of the quest packs cost nearly 1000 points, so it's going to be a bit of a grind fest just to avoid a tad more grinding

Either way it's still the best alternative to a 14 day trial, I'm sure by the time I hit 30, I will have enough of an idea as to if I want the subscription, purchases, or whatever else necessary. Especially considering the absence of quests might actually want me to try out the professions, and see the full extent of the basic game, excluding raiding.

Wow that is bullshit, I'll keep that in mind before I subscribe. Did you contact customer support to inquire if it's just simple policy or if they assumed shenanigans. Such as misuse, gold pirating, or hacked account/hacking.
Also I'd say this is a 'wait'. After playing it again this evening, I discovered that the lag is worse, far worse. The flood of players literally slows you down for 30 seconds, frozen in place. You're easy prey for any of the mobs that are unfrozen. I'm going to wait a week (seeing as how it's my first week of classes) and then continue playing when the lag is resolved.
edit: To answer the grind question; the grind is fine so far, but I haven't run out of free quests yet...
I'd still say it's worth the download because it beats downloading a full game just for the 14 day trial.

i'm not even gonna bother talkin to customer support. i don't really care, i have a feeling they'll want me to pay $15 for a month they didnt get payment for. no way in hell i'm payin $15 for an account that just has a 24 hunter lol in a f2p game.

i am actually finding that i really like this game as a break from sc2. the only drawback is when you hit mid twenties it wants you to pay for quest packs with your turbine points that you can buy or earn in game. so essentially ive been griding/farming my deeds to earn turbine points so that it is actually free. Essentially you could just keep making new characters and doing the starter place deeds and then delete and redo. but the gameplay so far actually makes me want to pay for it...but im not.
