I don't know how many of you know about them changed their thinking about making to overtime rules seeing as it's a little unfair currently. (Whoever wins the coin toss has a pretty good chance of winning the game so it's based partly on luck)
Changes that are being voted on at the end of the month:
- It would still be sudden death, and the game would still be over if the first team scores a TD.
- The other team would get a chance to score if the first team scores a FG.
- If the second team does get a FG after the first team then the overtime continues, if they get a TD they win, and if they don't score obviously the first team wins.
Opinions?
I think it could work out quite nicely that way.

It's hard to call it 'Sudden Death' if the first team scores points, but still isn't guaranteed a win.
Otherwise, I rather like the idea for the NFL. Wouldn't want to see it in other sports, though.

Hockey has sudden death.
i don't think that it would work in baseball, but then yet again i don't know baseball very well.

I like it, but I still think the other team should be able to try to get a TD if the other team gets a TD. I should be "match or beat the other teams drive"

No shit. When I was talking about "it not working for other sports", I meant the op's idea for overtime. Baseball's a bit different, since you're guaranteed the bottom inning anyway.
It seems most sports don't have a real Sudden Death overtime format. Maybe that's why I love it in hockey so much.

This could make some games long as fuck. Wish this was applied during the saints vs. vikings game because viking should have won that game.
