I think the rocks in Steppes of War have no purpose other than to be annoying. If they attack from the lowground, or from the highground blocked off by the rock, you defend from the same choke. You must destroy the rocks for your 3rd to be safe. It doesn't delay your expansion at all because you can run a worker around the long way to build before the rocks are fully dead.


edit: i'm totally not talking about the yellow mineral rocks.

LT suffers from the same problems as in SC1, and feels a lot more cramped at times.

Steppes of war is ridiculously small :/

Blistering sand's rocks are pretty terrible (back door to main = zerg favored) and the chokes in general are just badly laid out.

Kulas Ravine is my most hated map, for all its "features"

Desert Oasis.

Well, with the cracked offline version you can watch replays and play an AI. You can get a decent look at the game, test out the units and watch some nice replays.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I don't think system specs matter what-so-ever. I got in with a VERY shitty rig that didn't even meet the minimum requirements, and gets about 10fps in wc3.

Yea pc specs doesn't actually matter, my pc plays it all on ultra so it's definatly good enough, luckily my mate gave me a key icon_smile.gif

My specs aren't great but I can run it very comfortably on medium. I haven't really tried playing games in ultra and I keep forgetting to check the FPS I'm getting, but I have watched replays in ultra just to see what it looks like. My spec is:

CPU - E7300 @2.8GHz
Ram - OCZ Gold 3.5GB
GFX - Nvidia 9500GT 512MB (which isn't even a 'gaming' card)

I'm not playing on that computer. The point I was trying to make is that system specs don't seem to be a factor to the opt-in.

Yeah, it's surprisingly good from what I've seen/tested. SCV's beat probes 1v1 by default, and with the improved AI the SCV's act as a very nice meat shield for your marines to sit behind.

That rush is very imba but terran dont even need it to win, if you look at lucifron demolishing protoss in that esl tourny. For some reason US terrans think toss has major advantage but seems to be complete opposite in EU lol. Also I think im switching to terran, very fun race.
