Basically, I've had a xbox 360 since it came out, my dad bought it for the family, but it never got played and sat in a part of the house no one used. So I rescued it by moving it into my room, and using it on my new 42 inch TV. Then I decided that I needed xbox live, so I got it about a week ago, after finding a way around the insanely high priced wireless adapter.


The only game I have for xbox live at the moment is Call of Duty MW 2 and I'm starting to get bored of playing it 24/7.


So my question is, what are some other awesome games for xbox live? Are there any tactical, rpgs, or something along that line thats online? Or does it just get as indepth as FPS and sport games?

Well basically the only thing that I find unique about consoles is the ability to play music games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Otherwise PC and console basically have the same games, but they are usually better on PC. RPGs and RTS, for example, are more fun on PC like 95% of the time. As far as shooters go, I think MW2 is your best bet at the moment. Although Bad Company 2 is coming out soon, but that could be played on PC as well.

Before I got live, everyone said it takes the xbox to the next level. Now I've got it, it seems the only good games are MW2 and fifia >.<

Battlefield bad company 2?! Halo 3 is still one of the most played games on XBL. Left4Dead 2, forza, borderlands?

fable 2 is probably the best you'll do. This is a problem on all consoles though. Fable 3 is supposed to have better coop though.

Lol, so because I don't read gaming mags and only started playing my xbox again, I bury my head under a rock... ok. And the dynasty warriors strikeforce is suppose to be out tomorrow? I may, just buy this now, and it will be here within 48 hours. The only thing thats stopping me is that they've added the ability to fly, and other shit, which makes me think its going to be a bad game ;/

there's gameplay videos out for it...

and you don't have to read any game magazine to know about any of the games I've mentioned. except dynasty warriors.

I've been reading reviews/watching on youtube, and strikeforce actually seems pretty sick. People reported a few lag problems but meh, not 100% if i'm going to buy it.

check out the arcade. Worms 2 is pretty amazing. the impossible game is short and may not be your cup of tea....but it is only 1 USD. pretty fun for what it is if you ask me. also, street fighter 4 and super street fighter 4 (comes out in april). BF1943 is pretty fun and is drastically different from MW2. im not sure i "highly" recommend it or anything though. Braid is lots of fun and definitely better on console than on PC. Gears of War 1 and 2 are fun. Bayonetta is pretty exciting and kinda like dynasty warriors (but it is WAY better). shadow complex is really fun. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is a fucking blast. Rez HD is amazing. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is old school but if you never played it, definitely pick this one up. if you can find crackdown for pretty cheap, it was pretty good (not amazing, just good).

I don't know how many people still play the first one online though... haven't touched it since L4D 2 came out.

Halo 3 is still huge online, so get that.

Maybe Grand Theft Auto IV? If you have some friends who also have the game it can be really fun.

they should release L4D1 maps as expansion DLC to L4d2. Maybe figure out a way to tell if you own L4D1 to make it free. I really enjoyed a lot of the L4D1 maps and wish I could get those back.

You have no idea how much I agree with you on that. L4D online was so much funner than L4D2. I find most of the new infected annoying, whether I'm fighting them off or playing as them. Other than the Tank, the Smoker was proably my fav. Boomer and Hunter were about the same for me.

Halo was going to be my first purchase after getting xbox live, but after looking on play, and noticing the next one is out in 5-6 months, I thought I might aswell wait.

Also the fact I HATE halo storylines, I only like the pvp.

When I was at sixth form, someone brung in a two shit tvs, and 2 xbox's and 8 of us played halo 2, 4 vs 4. It became insane though, as everyone started bunking lessons to just play Halo lol.


Looks like I'm going to buy the dynasty warriors, I couldn't d/l demo as I use memory cards to my xbox, and cba to delete some of the stuff I need just to play a demo, but people rated it 4/5. So it seems good, I guess I'm going to have to buy it and find out.

Hmmm I think bad company and battlefield 1943 are great shooters for the console, and they are both cheap. I play them all the time. Also, if you are willing to consider offline games, try oblivion or fallout 3

Only looking for online games really.

Also I'm not going to buy any fps until the next Halo likely, because my dad usually gets the most up to date fps's for his birthday/christmas.

Currently, he owns every medal of honour, call of duty, gears of war, and few others. I only enjoy COD tho ;/


WHY ARE THERE LITTLE TO NONE RPG's OR STRATEGY GAMES?


You'd think microsoft would realise that mmorpgs could still be played on a console, and surely it would boost xbox live sales.
