best strat game on xbox = worms 2. it has online. im not sure you would consider it strategy, but Trials HD is really popular. one of the best selling arcade games of last year (actually, i think it was THE best selling arcade game from last year).

Final Fantasy XI if you don't mind another monthly fee?

It's like World of Warcraft where you have to pay a monthly fee to play it. I'm guessing it's around $10 but I'm not sure.

Ahh your talking about the PC version? Because I know a new final fantasy is coming to the xbox next month, but I thought it was offline ;/

Final Fantasy XI came out for the PC in 2002 and then in 2006 for the 360. Both played online and come with a monthly fee.
Final Fantasy XIII is coming out in March and will be offline.
Final Fantasy XIV is coming out in late 2010 or maybe 2011 and will be another MMO like Final Fantasy XI for the PC and PS3.

Orochi Warriors (dynasty warriors remake) was fucking awesome.
Few others were pretty good and addictive. The problem is they don't stick to the basics. It would be a very good if they didn't add the ability to fly. Sooo fucking annoying.

Uh, you dont need XBOX LIVE to play FFXI. You just need the FFXI subscription.

FPS - halo , mw2 , bc2 (looks good but i havent played)
rpg - fable 2... only thing really besides two worlds, but it has bad graphics.
rts - dont try. pc > console for this category
otherwise try rockband. ive been playing for the past 2 years and its still fun. new dlc comes out every tuesday with about 5-12 songs on average. increase skill and watch videos... it lasts you a while. plus you dont NEED a band, playing alone is still fun. just for when your internet fails you
