sorry, forgot to post here, listened to it a couple days ago.

I thought it was pretty good. IIRC I was doing some hardcore facebook chatting and flash gaming with it in the background, so I didn't notice the transitions too well, but I guess that's a good thing if you're aiming for a seamless mix. I thought the track selection was good, but I dont really know what's good since the only glitchy music I listen to is the occasional milanese or aphex twin.

Nice one man, thanks for the comment. Yeah, as long as nothing stood out as terribly bad, then I'm pretty happy tbh. icon_smile.gif

I'm working on a new mix right now, this time with a Dubstep theme. I'm actually going to plan this one out a bit (I did the glitch mix while playing Plants vs Zombies), so it should be up within a day or to.

Alright im gonna try to update this post as I listen so its as fresh as possible. I'll still be multitasking though.

So far a great start. This is a damn chill track. A lot of these names I don't recognize, but that's because I just recently got into Dubstep. I really like it a lot, though. In fact, right now I'm working on a dubstep track in Reason. I haven't used it in a while and even back then I only made loops in Redrum and that was about it. ATM I'm kinda fine-tuning my synths and digging around for some samples to use to make it more varied and rich. Anyways enough about me.

Ok I actually noticed a transition this time, lol. It was a good one. This track is pretty sweet. Its chill but also nice and dark and a little creepy. 2nd transition was good. Im not feeling this 3rd track though, well that sounds harsh its not bad, but I dont like it as much as the previous ones. Everything about it is alright except the vocals feel a tiny bit out of place.
3rd transition was great, 4th song is sweet. I was really hoping you'd have reggae dub-influenced tracks in this, it's my favorite type of dubstep, like a lot of Rusko's and the digital mystikz' tracks. I'll definitely look into this producer's other music.

next track started out kinda crappy, I only liked the drums, the bass was kinda lame, but right now at the 15.05 mark it sounds hella sick. I was just talkin to my girl on MSN and I lost where I was. I dont know what happened to the akira kiteshi track but I thought it was all the Benga track (So great job I guess, lol). I've heard girl from codeine city, on the fabriclive 37 album. This is the only track I've already heard. Last transition and track were good. Im likin the bass on this. It's pretty chill.

All in all great mix. I will download it for workouts and long busrides and will definitely be snatching the benga and radikal guru trax ASAP.

Edit: oh, no wonder. The one I really liked was the akira kiteshi remix. I just didn't like the benga track at all. Great transition! lol.

Listened to the dubstep one (I'm a massive fan of teh dub), and I liked it.

However, this isn't really proper dubstep anymore - it's changed a bit over here in London and it's more heavily orientated and there are huge drops, which has brought us some sick songs. These songs are easier to mix as they don't really drop, you should try some other tunes like this

search for these channels on youtube:

ukfdubstep
inspector dubplate (although he puts up the really grimey stuff, its quite goresteppy)

tunes to listen to (artist then song):

cragga - mr postman
emalkay - when I look at you
coven - meet me halfway remix
mt eden - sierra leone
datsik - apples
nero - any song tbh, they're all good
trolley snatcha - the future
jakwob - starry eyed (remix of ellie goulding)

These are just a few really, see what you think.

Hehe yeah I live in London too, but I get what you're saying. The mixes weren't meant to be the newest tracks (some of them are quite old), or even totally exemplary for the genre, but rather just what I'm listening to at the moment. Some of the stuff in the Glitch mix wasn't even close to Glitch, for example, but the overall theme of the mix was, so in the interests of a simple and concise naming-system I just chose the basic genre-feel of the mix.

Thanks a lot for the feedback and the suggestions guys, I really appreciate it! I will definitely look into those track recommendations Edgeworth, thanks for those. icon_smile.gif

I should be getting my next mix together sometime soon, but I've been a bit busy with other things (SC2 is taking up a lot of my free time right now also).

And thats not bad at all. Music is all about listening to things that are interesting or sound good to you. I hate it when people get all uptight about genres and whatnot, if every artist followed so many guidelines for a genre and never strayed from that prescription all music would suck balls. And a lot of it does for that reason.

So there aren't any drops or grimey bass synths or maybe there's a lot of hip-hop samples, maybe it's not in 4/4 time or the tempo is like way below 120 bpms. fuck it, I say its still dubstep if it still has that dubstep feeling (im not talking about a particular song here this is purely hypothetical) Look at how much hip-hop has evolved and changed, look at how many different styles there are in that genre.

Thanks a lot mate! No, I don't do any live DJing at the moment. I used to mainly do parties and stuff, with some pirate radio and club sets every now and then, but I pretty much stopped after I got into producing my own stuff.
