Even with a power fist or sword a guardsman is no match for a berzerker, for one the guardsman would have to be completely fucking insane to charge a huge ass marine with spikes everywhere and for two a bolt round would end his crazy ass charge in an instant xD But yeah it will be interesting to see how they implement any semblance of balance what with the table top game being designed with balance in regards to whole armies not individuals (even DoW compensated for lack luster individual performance by simply making obscenely large squads).

Personally I'm really excited to see how vehicles are worked in, since they are a major part of the 40k universe

EDIT: oh and wouldnt plasma weapons be fun. "DIE YOU MUTHER FUC-" *plasma weapon exlodes* heh

You're rolling for my long fangs from now on =P I've lost count of the amount of times I've lost them due to shitty rolls.

But on a game related note what elements do we think they will take from the table top game, since not everything will be able to be ported to an mmo effectively (pinning for one and to a lesser extent tank shock) as these are the things that make the TT game so enjoyable.

hah, based on the fact I enjoy the table top game? nah m8, whilst i enjoy it i also enjoyed dow and even fire warrior purely because they were (for the most part) cannon. I actually think an mmo based off of the table top game (instead of the 40k universe) would suck gigantic hairy monkey balls....

so you dont think the basic principles like movement speed, weapon damage and types, area of effect etc etc will have any effect on the game? I'm more interested in knowing if the game will simply be a wow clone with guns or actualy somewhat decent with gameplay elements borrowed from the TT game (as per _every other GW video game). like i said im not expecting a turn based mmo where units take wounds or anything. personaly i think it would be quite cool to have an mmo that didnt simply revolve around how much dps your weapon does and how much incoming damage you can mitigate (since it looks like manual aiming we can probably discount dmg mitigation from the usual forms) and get something a little more tactical with things like cover coming in different forms, not simply LoS or not lol.

meh either way, even if it was simply a reskined, remapped wow id play the damn thing

I'm genuinely excited for this MMO as I love the 40K stuff.

I'm worried about how vehicle combat in PvP will work. If WoW is anything to judge by it will not be very smooth. Although, again it depends on a lot. Wintergrasp can have a fuckin' lot of people in it...
