I'm pretty sure you can't.

Also next time try making a more descriptive thread title. Like, instead of "ps3" it could have been "ps3: burning games and playing them from dvd/bluray" and then people would know what the topic of the thread actually is from the title.

Ok. So you can't copy them to the hard drive either?

Yeah, either way, you can't, as far as I know. Pirating PS3 games is near impossible due to the massive size of blu-ray disc games, and the encryption. And you can't download anything from PSN and burn them to a disc.

If you're asking about downloading PS3 games off the internet and playing them on the PS3 for free...you're just out of luck, I don't think it's really possible. With a burned disc or with a hard drive.

Nothing wrong with pirating games, princess.

Anyways, I am pretty sure you can, but you would need a:
Blu Ray Disc
Blu ray Burner
Blu ray CD Drive
Custom Firmware.

I don't think the custom firmware exists at the moment, and if it did you wouldn't be able to play anything because the hackers would have no games to rip icon_wink.gif

I think there's copies of isos for most PS3 games. It's mostly just too expensive to put them on a disk for most people to try it. There are a couple groups of hackers that are working on it and keep saying they're really close.

I love how we can crack powerful machines like the PS3 in like 2 years, yet we still cannot create a GCN emulator that can run more than 30 FPS.

Nintendo has won that round.....

I am pretty sure that if people put enough effort into it they would be able to get every game running properly. The problem is that in Console world the coding has so many different tags that it is hard to convert them properly. Emulators only take that code and convert them to put them into the correct places for a PC to run them. I am still waiting for a good PS2 emulator. Once they find out a good way to manage how each part works individually then it will work for all games. That is until a game that uses something else found in the PS2 system comes along. Then they have to figure out what it is and where to put it so a PC can run it properly.

yeah its mostly because of two keywords:

HARDWARE

And EMULATION.

Hardware = Actual thing
Emulation = Simulation.

No you cant. A simple search at any torrent site wont bring you any results of PS3 games.

I hate to burst your bubble... But I just did a quick little search on a torrent site and found a PS3 emulator... I want to see if it even works... even if it is just a little bit... But no one is seeding. 130 leechers though.

Probably a virus.

if you are really that desperate for a PS3 emulator, join a code breaking community. This topic seems really edgy to getting locked to me....

I was just looking to see if it was true or not and he is right about the games; there are no games you can download and put on a BD to play on a PS3. But supposedly there is an emulator for it. Even if it is a virus I have nothing that it can take from me. I just want to see if it is real or not. And it could mean games will be ripped in the future.

Don't bother with all that junk. I hear the PS3 has security and encryption up the ass so pirating games for it isn't possible yet. I suggest getting a job instead.

Uh... the Uncharted 2 files.... only up to 4 gigabytes big? I mean really? only 4 GB? I don't know about you but I think that 4 GB doesn't even sound realistic...

Plus with the constant firmware upgrades I doubt that it would work on the PS3. But I would have to try it. Unless you have never upgraded the firmware on your PS3 I think it stands a chance at working.

You don't have to have a custom firmwared PS3 if you do not upgrade it constantly. Otherwise you will just need a down grader... But none exist like they do for PSP yet...

I am just saying that the amount of space for just Uncharted 2 seems rather low and unbelievable... And I don't trust the MGS4 links...

I mean even the names. "Full DVD release" just do not sound correct...

I could understand if it was the review code because they are put on DVD's but still...
