Hi! I thought about playing WoW for a long time now. Since I don't know anyone who plays it, I'll just ask you guys here ninja.gif.

Should I find myself a private server or start within the official one?
If I want to play on the Blizzard server, do I need to pay for wow, for tbc and for wotlk? It would be a lot of money lol.

And.. Is it worth playing? 'Cause L2 is getting kinda boring on retail ninja.gif.

you can start with WoW to just try it out, you dont need to buy TBC or WoTK til after lvl 60, and I would suggest and official server because you will actually get a feel for the game.

Yeah, before you go and buy anything though you can always download the 10 day free trial and see if you would even like the game icon_smile.gif

From my own experience, and from the experience of friends of mine, WoW isn't worth it unless you have friends (in real life, preferably) that play it. 'Cause IMO, MMOs in general are sort of an ego-battle, so you have to have someone you can 'brag' to about your dings to 80, etc. icon_razz.gif

Sometimes it is fun with people from RL, but speaking from experience, my RL friends stopped playing and I didnt and I am now having a blast with WoW. More than I ever have at least, once you get to a higher level and start beefing up, its not hard to find an awesome guild.

Yeah, of course. I forgot to mention that, but when he's just starting the game up, getting up to that higher level can seem like a very lonely and tedious experience, at least in my opinion (went two weeks before getting bored). I guess previously gained online friends would work just as well; anybody that makes the game feel like a more 'social', as ironic as the word is, experience.

That's exactly what ruined it for me being honest. Been playing since release (on and off though, not non-stop), and I just miss the old days where an epic was actually considered to be an epic not normal gear required to even think about getting into a raiding guild. That's just me though :/

IMO that was too hard for the average guy, TBC was pretty good in that sense.
