I have just moved into university and I cannot seem to play games. I can't load quake live, I can't connect to battle net, steam or xfire. I think it is something to do with the universities firewall. I am on a wireless connection. Is there any way I can sort this out from my laptop? Probably not. Suggestions?

Some guy at my halls rented a server and then created a tunnel connection to that server. Basically using that server as a proxy we were then able to play games/do whatever. Until someone has the initiative to do this I suggest u leave ur room and go socialise ;o hf

My bro had the same problem when he went to uni. He set up a proxy on a shitty computer at home that we kept running 24/7 and connected to that.
