I don't see what the big deal is about this. The plot has been done dozens of times (hell, it reminds me a lot of District 9 and even that one had a cliche plot). The "aliens" and their dragons and primitive society gives me a fantasy feel from the movie, which I don't like. Is everyone just excited because it's Cameron?

Friend of mine saw the first 11 minutes of it at a film festival in London recently, supposedly it was mind bogglingly good stuff. I dunno if he saw it in full 3d though.

the big deal is that it apparently has incredible visual, and people who saw a sneak preview at Comic-con all seemed to agree it looked spectacular as well.

Yeah and that movie wasn't even that good. Heath Ledger was great, but he wasn't even in that many scenes. It was a pretty average superhero movie in my opinion.

Every plot has been done dozens of times. In fact Avatar's was done in the mid 90s so that negates the possibility of it ripping off anything new.
