Donkey Kong for the atari seems fun, I might open up my 2600.
What you guys think? Open up a console that cost me $200, which brings the general cost of it down to like 80?

i think the Atari 2600 had lots of "great games" and among them were the Activision games.
Activision built its "brand strength" on the "high quality" graphics of every game. No flickering figures.. clean lines..etc.
For example, compare Activision "Chopper Command" to Atari "Defender". in "Defender" your ship disappears every time you fired a bullet because the system could only handle so many independently moving objects. What a great defense.... just fire a bullet any time anything is about to hit your ship
oddly.. Activision was able to break that "independently moving object" barrier for some reason.
I'd love to find out how they did that

XD you know quite a bit.
I've tried Defender, not Chopper Command. Not even too sure if I have chopper command, sounds good if Activision made it though might look into getting it.

Sad to see what Activision has become, they are making the same mistakes as atari today.

Especally with games like the CoD series..
Mass producing them without change or allowing time for tournys and stuff..
Do you know if they are doing the new wolvenstein?

I'm pretty sure Activision still does shit other than publishing. There was speculation that the next "secret new omfg console" would be either Activision's or Apple's considering both companies pretty much have the balls to do it.
Didn't they just finish another Fail Tony Hawk game for the wii?
Those games used to be good

But, wouldnt having two seperate companies produce CoD games (IW and Treyarch) be Activisions idea?

the history of software engineering is almost as interesting as software engineering itself...
I just finished a degree in Electrical Engineering with Software Engineering electives...
so I know quite a bit about tiny electronic devices
Any Activision ROM is difficult to acquire because Activision flexed their legal muscles in getting their ROMs taken off sites like www.AtariAge.com
If you dig around though... you should be able to find the "Chopper Command" ROM.
