I saw this tonight and loved it. One of the movies I was looking forward to this year besides Transformers 2 and it didn't disappoint.
I personally thought 2 was better than 1, and I never even watched the 3rd one because it didn't have any of the original cast. But this one was the best out of all of them in my opinion. Mainly that's because I prefer good 'ol American Muscle over Import and that's what this one focused on, so I am a tad biased.
The theater was packed at the 4 o'clock matinee on the third day. Biggest opening this year so far I'm guessing.

Vin Diesel appeared at the very end of it. And the asian guy that was with Vin Diesel in the 4th movie played a much bigger role in Tokyo Drift.
Tokyo Drift just really didn't have a good story, and most of the racing scenes were bland.
It was still a LOT better than the shitstorm of the second one.

no way
tokyo drift was by far the worst of the three
you've got a movie about illegal street racing, and a bunch of pansy ass asians
one gun gets drawn in the whole movie
plus the acting was a hundred times worse
that yobbo main character sounded like a retard

It's the equivalent of trying to get a hard on with 20 old people standing around you with notepads and watching you intently. It just doesn't happen.

I agree that all of this was bad.
...but it was still better than the second one.

personally i thought the first 3 were meh. Fast and Furious (the latest one) was well done as an entertainment movie. I didn't expect anything else.
about tokyo drift: it was kinda ghey how they got a guy in his mid 20s to play a teenage dude. i also hate how they got the black guy schooling the whiteboy on how azns do things.

I am inclined to agree.

i think that "fakeness" is the term people are looking for. Although Tokyo Drift was bad, it wasn't as fake as the previous 2.

Not really, the "fakeness" of a movie doesn't matter.
Otherwise I wouldn't love Crank as much as I do.

that's not what i was getting at (and i don't blame you for understanding it in another way). Crank was pulling our suspense of disbelief over the top, but i wouldn't go as far as calling it "fake."
The first two fast and furious movies didn't manage to get the characters across. They all seemed fakey because the acting was a bit bad, but also because of the style of the movie.
Crank's acting was ok and the movie was done in a way that you still "believed" it.

I think the 'belive' part in Crank was because of how serious Jason Statham looked. That guy can litteraly make ANYTHIN' serious, even a comedy I think.

Why can't they just name sequels properly....
The Fast and The Furious
2 Fast 2 Furious

I didn't include Tokyo Drift because it wasn't a sequel to the first one or the second.

It is a sequel. Watch the 4th and you'll figure it out.
That said, its a good flick. Fun to watch, and some damn good action sequences.
Remember, though, it is still made by Hollywood. Don't expect realism.

I really like it that Vin Diesel's back as one of the main people in the story. Too bad there isn't much racing here compared to like 1 and 2 where a focus was really on racing. Nonetheless I'm a fan of the series (even tokyo drift although I admit I didn't like it as much as 2 Fast 2 Furious) I can't wait for the 5th installment
