I know this is a really noobish thing to ask, but as I have admitted before, I really am a Quake noob, but - when everyone talks about the maps as "DM_tourney_7" or "q_comp_4" or whatever, I really have no idea which maps they're referring to. When I am in QL, and look at the map listing, I see names like, "Chemical Reaction" or "The Longest Yard". Are we talking about the same maps here? If so, which "map_names" correspond to which displayed "Map Names"... if you know what I mean.

qzdm6 - Campgrounds Redux
qzdm13 - Lost World
qztourney4 - Vertical Vengeance
qztourney6 - Almost Lost
qztourney7 - Furious Heights

They're still working on the balance, but the spawn system is TOO random, hard to plan what you're going to do next when you have zero idea where you're going to spawn.

Rockets are fine, LG is too weak, rail is fine, plasma is fine, but shotgun is overpowered.

They're lowered the damages of everything except the shotgun, so the balance is fucked.

Needs Hub and ZTN, T6 and T7 are awful maps. T7 too big, spawns on T6 are fucked beyond belief.

there is no solution to spawns. if they make it too predictable, people get spawn raped. there is NO possible solution to spawns. every single possible idea has had a flaw thus far.

balance is fine. i have yet to see anyone shotgun rape. its good at what it does, but you cant lean on it.

t6 and t7, you just arent used to them. hub and ztn had their time. MAYBE in the future they can come back, but we need NEW maps. so far i like all of the new maps (ca1, ca2, ctf7, t6 and t7). their new map designer is pretty good. continuing to go back to old maps will stall the competition again. if this game wants to take off, i think it needs a ladder, and every 6 months, the ladder gets reset along with new maps coming out. ladder games are only allowed to use the newest map pack.

I cant wait for priv servers so I dont have to play CTF with idiots who rage whenever people vote on maps without powerups.

If you didn't use your closed beta account 21 days before the open beta it would have got deleted and you'll need to make a new account.
