Arena Live is now released as a browser game only for Linux OS and Firefox browser.
Arena Live is the free Quake3 Clone Open Arena, based on ioQuake3 engine, an extendend version of the id tech 3, with less bugs and more added features. Open Arena comes with own built content like new textures, models, maps, weapons, and sounds.
In the future Arena Live will support other OS. For playing you need a quick registration on the site. Itīs more like a demonstration and experiment i guess, havenīt tested it by myself.
the maker ZeXx86 says:
Before some time, I was interested in QuakeLive (really, I am still), but some unnamed developer dont work as I expect.
He talks to ppl that port of QuakeLive coming soon -- first month, second, third and so on, but where it is today ?
ID Software got new developer specialised for this job from ca 2009.1 and you can check its web page - Mac and Linux coming soon .. huh
I dont want wait anymore, I want show to this company and other, that it is possible to make games for GNU/Linux distros before windows release is pushed. Linux/Unix can't be ignored!
