The Deathadder is good because of it's laser, not because of the gold plated USB.

Deathadder has an optical engine, powered by infrared.

This is exactly what has been going on through the entire thread, and it's not the first time either.
You come to us for advice..you just spell out what you want to get, and then ask us if it is okay, and we have to explain why it isn't. That's the world upside down.. If you would just say 'hey guys, I have an X amount of money, what should I buy?' Then this would be over in 2-3 posts, not 2-3 pages.

I didn't want to call it an "optic" that felt kind of weird. I probably should've gone with "infrared sensor."

I would prefer a gold plated connection than a non gold plated one.. And why is is "retarded" ?

Never had any of there headsets But i do have a razer lachasis mouse. I play at 1250 dpi. For my gaming style the mouse suits my needs. Although razer does have a way of making things seem better then they really are. For example : Soft padded feet for extra gliding(or w/e ) Do you realize how fast they are wearing out ? All things aside, I like razer. Dont ask why but ima not bash them.

The razer megalodon is a pretty good pair of HEADPHONES. I dont consider it being a headset since the mic blasts static all the time

But the sound quality in 2.0 is quite good

Only a few select games that i have support the 7.1

But when they do its candy for your ears.

Its just to bad that such an expensive HEADSET doesnt have a decent mic at least

Im just a no mic loner until they release a firmware that fixes this problem

I own a megalodon myself (for comparison purposes with the G35). Well if you don't really care how much the price is, then it is a good headset. For one compared to a lot of other headsets this one is actually comfortable in comparison to other similar headsets. I use the 7.1 at times and although if you've read stuff about surround sound, you can't tell the difference between front left and rear left since its a headset not a surround sound around your room. But with respect to its purpose, it is a good headset. Is it worth the money however.... I'd invest on another headset icon_smile.gif

I have the Razer Piranha and it's pretty okay. Very comfortable (almost feels like you are wearing nothing) and unlike most headphones it doesn't make you totally deaf to the outside world. Also no, it's not a USB headset.

True, but when you live with your family like I do, it's beneficial to hear a family member screaming your name the first time icon_razz.gif
