Basically you just enter the adress of a site you want to know is down and it will tell you.
Some of you guys might think this is useless but I always have sites that are down for me and no one else so this is a good way to find out!

i just go to the site to find out if its down. though i suppose some people want to know before they try to feel good about them clever selves!!!
