Well, the update comes out this wednesday. im pretty excited myself. im getting support for the native resolution of my monitor!! the avatars arent super original, but they werent very original on the wii either (pc games and mmo games have had this kind of thing for years). so its not a big deal that its not original to me. and the idea of an 8 person chat room that can go from game to game together...that is just bad ass. im so pumped.

I love the idea about the 8 player private chat.. but that's pretty much it. Im just interested to see how everything else will be, but im mainly excited for the expanded private chat option. yay! <3

8 person chat thing seems great. Other than that, not really all that excited. Yeah, they changed the layout of xbox and added avatars, but theres no big deal there. So long as I can play my games fine I'm happy either way.

I won't actually be using any of these features. Maybe the 8-way chat for certain socials but that's about it. These interactive quasi-mmo platforms are a huge waste of effort IMO. Live and Home included. Mii's were and interesting idea, but I'm glad nintendo had the sense not take it farther than a neat time waster.

Aaaaanyways, yeah, there's nothing I like about this new upd-.... uh... "experience".
Nothing I really dislike, but nothing that I'd use anyways.

I haven't tried it yet...so I'm still on a "let's wait and see" basis right now. I do however don't like how there's no option to go back to the blades interface completely (I know it's built into the guide, but a dumbed down version). I don't hate the new interface however, because like I said, I'll wait and try it, and hate on it then if it doesn't work smoothly.

how is it a quasi-mmo platform? you make an avatar and it stands there... It's just like mii's except they look good, and stand in a place that's not a boring flat background (not dissing mii's, that's juts my interpretation of avatars).
I probably won't care too much about my avatar until developers release some cool FREE clothes for them.
the only thing mmoy about avatars is the party thing, and that's only 8 people, so I wouldn't go so far as to call it an mmo.
I'm excited for XNA community games! I watched the joystiq (i think) preview, and the game was only 50 points. SO PUMPED THEY LOWERED THE PRICES! that's right around where I wanted to sell games I make, so people dump leftover points into them. I am excite.
It would be really cool if M$ opened up avatars to XNA so you could make games with the avatars in them on the cheap.
