I forgot what the argument was about.. but:

When a good story does happen, as with Blaz Blue, I enjoy my character a lot more than I would if it had no story or a shitty one. This by no means stops me from buying a fighting game if I heard it has a shitty story though.

I liked Bang's play style, I also liked how over the top he would act and what he had done from in the story. When fighting another character I would remember where they where in the arc and how they relate to bang, and why they are fighting. But only for a LITTLE while.

I don't have that feeling with SF, but I still think it's fun. All I think is "I am Fei Long, the enemy is Dhalsim.. KICK HIS ASS!"

Nothing like "Ah yea, Dhalsim is still bitter with Fei Long because of that shit he said to him many years ago.. he's probably still pissed."

What I'm trying to say is.. a good story is not necessary for me, but when there is one, I do enjoy the game a lot more. Even if it's 1 frame links that I have to worry about instead of story or the characters emotions.

And I'm saying it isn't a wasted experience and that even though fighting games don't need a good story, or a story at all, they become enriched just like any other genre of games.

So anybody know if their local arcades are getting SSFIV:AE?

They can be (in very, very rare instances), but they don't need to be. I would much rather the developer focused on the mechanics of the fighting than the reason for the fighting
