Does anyone else hate this idea?

1. Avatars are included in scoreboard now, similar to CSS and TF2. As if it was hard enough to fit everyone in a 32man server on the scoreboard.

2. Upon completion to updating your steam, it also changed your cl_updaterate to 20 if it was at 101 and your ex_interp to .5. Without any notice, or even if you have your config on read only.
3. Your ingame name has to be changed in friend or it'll turn back like in TF2. Unless of course you change it manually in your config.

4. Rumors spreading that this update will change the hitboxes and shooting systems, which means more excuses = more complaining in forums/servers and matches. (I dont believe in this stupid rumor)

5. I just liked it the way it was. Original and unique.

Yeah, this is my opinon and if I have anything that may be like WTF? to you go ahead and post away.

also, for fitting all names on the scoreboard? you could play in a higher screen res, then all is well.

Yeah them playing with the rates is kinda stupid.. did they change the server-side of things to be like CSS where the server can control the rate settings?

#1 - Play on 800x600, they arent there.
#2 - Any sane CS player has net settings in his autoexec
#3 - OH WOW HUGE DEAL, you can change the name easily
#4 - Nope, it's just a rumor some kid on g0tfrag made up cause hes crap at the game
#5 - Valve wont revert anything so live with it.

It's not much of a big deal, these features were in the Steamworks 1.6 beta.

Maybe I'll play 1.6 occassionally again, I've been playing a shitload of Source lately.


There is no flight sim board. Whatever, I'll just stick the discussions in General Gaming or FPS stuf.

I personaly didnt like the avatar idea, saw it on me-m8 LiLMaN's PC when he was lannin with me. But this info about it not displaying the avatar on 800x600 and below is new to me. Its rare to find a pro 1.6 player that uses above 800x600 res, me thinks it reg's better on 800, or even 640, so mayb the avatars are designed for the surfmap pub playing high-res players anyway.. like me-m8 LiLMangz.

With all this said, im not a fan of any of the update things, people that dont know about rates or how they work will all of a sudden be hit with cmd (or update or w/e) 20, its pretty frikin stupid. I guess they needed random "lets try something else new" style tests, seems 1.6 is the game to cop all of valves beta'ing. I still find the adverts on the walls ugly as sin.

I think they un-did the update, my scores list is the old-style one now.

And I might get better at 1.6 now that I have the proper models.
