Imagine a MMO that subsituted grinding for the traditional story driven gameplay that make us love RPG's....That Is what I hope this game will be.

But my hopes will be crushed, mmo's always do that to me icon_sad.gif.

Found this on the old republic forums, sounds pretty interesting!

This rang a bell, because I forgot all about attending the session on Game Systems with Bill Dalton from Bioware at GDC in Sept of 09 in Austin. One of the things he talked about besides HeroEngine, was Scaleform GFx.

The cool thing about that toolset is that it uses vector graphics which means better scalability among other things... You can learn more about that here:

They are using it in Dragon Age, but now it would also appear SW:TOR as well.

So with all of the UI talk going around, I wonder how this would impact the potential add-on community and so forth (lets not turn this into a thread about wether thats good or not).

As far as I can tell there will be addons avaliable for this just like most other MMO's out there, and there wont be a big focus on grinding as well as gear like WoW.
It will be more skill based instead of grinding for XP and Gear.

hmmm, I dont know what to think anymore. I love the star wars galaxy, and this looks like it could expand a lot on it. I might end up getting it, does anyone know if its a monthly pay kind of thing and if yes then how much?

Almost definatly a monthly fee ranging from 9.99 to 14.99.

The developers made a post on their forums about it.
