I'll be honest and say I'll pick an ATI card when compared to an nVidia card of the same price and price/performance. Not really any particular reason.

This is exactly what has been going on through the entire thread, and it's not the first time either.
You come to us for advice..you just spell out what you want to get, and then ask us if it is okay, and we have to explain why it isn't. That's the world upside down.. If you would just say 'hey guys, I have an X amount of money, what should I buy?' Then this would be over in 2-3 posts, not 2-3 pages.

Cough Fanboy cough, it's ok lol. I'd do the same only in reverse. Stick to what you know and such.

It's probably since I've just had more experience with them and know what to do exactly to get them working 100% (like HDMI audio and everything). Probably same reason I'd take a Gigabyte board over an Asus every day, more experience with their BIOS's..

Yea man pretty much the same deal over here, idk it'd be nice to purchase an ATi monster for the first time. Have to wait and see whats out there around upgrade time!

I usually go with whoever has the better current drivers, which when I bought my card was ATI, but before that was nVidia.

The cards change too quickly to care about, so I focus on the driver.

This for me. Also, where I buy shit, ATI cards are always cheaper than the nVidia cards. Same goes for AMD's being cheaper than Intel's.

This for me. I once had a GeForce 2, then I got a PC with a Radeon 9600, then got another Radeon and found them much easier to work with (e.g. hardly any troubles, pretty good overclocking on stock cooler).

I dunno... lately Gigabyte has been slacking off a bit imo. If I had the money, I'd get the ASUS M3A32 MVP Deluxe instead of my Gigabyte MA790X-DS4.

Take a look at the recent range, the HD4850's and HD4870's. Especially checkout the HD4870X2.

ATI releases new drivers every month. I'm not sure about how often nVidia releases new drivers.

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 a direct port of the console version?
Infinity Ward: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

I'm not rich, so really price/performance ratio works for me.

Mind you, I really like the stuff that ATi are coming up with recently. I guess I am a SLIGHT fanboy.

But ofc, upgrade time for me is a way away yet, by the time I come to upgrade my GPU I suspect NVIDIA and ATi will have a new line up out. Core i7 and an X58 board tho before all that icon_razz.gif.

I do the same but with nvidia. But right now ATI is ftw.

I used to favor nvidia but now that most of their stuff is expensive upon release, I'm going towards ATI, but I still love my 8800GT

Doesn't really matter, but if I have to choose between two cards of equal performance I'd go Nvidia because I always have weird driver issues I don't want to deal with when it comes to ATI.

I'll usually go an Nvidia card unless the same generation ATI card performs a hell of alot better or is alot cheaper. Generally i've always used Nvidia, I guess i'm just more comfortable with stick to what I know.
