My computer is an old piece of crap (I'm going to upgrade soon) but the HDD is almost full and I need a new one immediately. I was going to get this but my ancient mobo doesn't support SATA, only ATA. So, I was wondering what sort of converter I could/should get in order for this to work.

If you want a newer interface, then a converter can actually save you some money if you plan on getting a new rig and want to transfer the drive! You will never get much of the speed advantages of Sata though until you connect it to a newer mobo.
It's your call.

I just went ahead and ordered the IDE HDD, it would cost just as much to buy the converter and the HDD as it would to just buy the IDE HDD to begin with, not to mention that the HDD came with free 3-day shipping.
