So yeah, I was looking in the market for an RPG or Action game, however these days it seems very hard to come by decent ones, as they all seem to be MMOs, now I have nothing against MMOs, its just difficult to create the same mood and depth in one.

As you can guess from my MMO complaint, I am looking for a game with a deep story line.

Now, to make things easier, i have played or own:

All of the Final Fantasies
Zelda Series
Breath of Fire Series
Dark Messiah
Diablo Series
Fallout Series
Golden Sun series
Tales of Symphonia
Fable
Neverwinter Nights
KotR Series
Mass Effect
Oblivion
Morrowwind
Xenosaga
All Baldurs Gates
Pokemon(RPG by standards)
Vagrant Story
LoK Series
Jak Series I guess? Meh I liked the storyline.

I've got a PC, Playstation 2, DS and a 360 to narrow things down a bit as well, now the reason I list what I've played is that I've looked at every other RPG thread and they all list a combination of those games.
I'd really appreicate it, if someone could reccomend me a decent, deep and hopefully dark mooded rpg.

Please for the sake of the RPG icon_razz.gif

ummm u could try Lost Odyssey. i thoughly enjoyed it. idk about darkmooded but its story is good n emotional at times imo. theres also alot of optional reading if u'd liek to go deeper into the main characters past.

You could hold out for the remake of Chrono Trigger for the DS...

You seem like a bit of a Western RPG man, atleast, well, you've like played all of them.

You want to look at Dues Ex, maybe STALKER aswell, if you take a liking to the shooter elements.

Secret of Mana?

Star Ocean? For the SNES, just uh.. DL a rom? X: Kinda hard to aquire for real SNES these days.

There's alot of good RPG's for the GBA, if you haven't tried Megaman Battle Network, you might, might not like it.

The Breath of Fire games are also good!

Zelda? Maybe? ;O

Just some options.

Nice, i love the tales series.

If you have a PS-2 i'd reccomend you, Tales of Abyss, but since you don't have one, i recommend to try out Eternal Sonata for the 360.

Yup, I reccomend Breath of Fire IV. It's pretty easy to find for PC.

You could try Dungeon Siege... Its pretty old and not really dark-mooded or anything... But its the only RPG that I can think of that you haven't played yet.

OHOHOHOHOHOH! Dark Cloud for the PS2. It came soon after the PS2 was released but its one of the best games for it imho. There's also a Dark Cloud 2. Definitely try to get a hold of this game.

Well I've played all of em except for Phantom Hourglass, which just seemed a bit gimmicky, however I do have to agree with you on the GB Zeldas, the oracle games were indeed awsome, especially the way they linked together.

Now thats its been mentioned, I do seem to remember playing a demo of Dark Cloud in a travel agency, like 6 years ago(or whenevery it came out) a bit blurry and I might not even be thinking of the right game, but you had a glove with which you had to collect....something into.

Yep that's Dark Cloud. You should also look into Earthbound for SNES, one of my favourite RPG's.
