Its based on Lord of the Rings, and what makes it most special is that its built on the wonderful Generals engine.

I haven't played it but I am looking forward to. I love Lord of the Rings. Altough it looks a bit worse than Generals.. maybe it's just the screenshots.

Agreed, its pretty good. It wears a bit thin after a while though.

do you realize what you've just said? i think the Generals engine is far from wonderful for several reasons, which i'm not going to explain in this topic cuz that would be kinda lame.
i played BFME with a nephew of mine at his house with 3 players LAN and it sucked. Controls are bad, units react like 2 seconds after you gave them an order and once you get into the more powerful stuff like the Balrog the whole gameplay is fucked up. I got the feeling that after just two games of MP i had seen the whole game.. It is the same over and over and over again and that would be fine if it would be a nice game to repeat, but it isn't. The only thing i liked about it was the very little aspect of upgrading put into the game and the fact it was based on the lotr series...
another potentially good game, fucked up by EA. Congratulations you deserved it.

Gameplay sucks
Graphics are very good.
A serious gamer should not spend his money on this game. Better stick to either WC3:Frozen Throne or Dawn of War or buy LoTR DVDs

I thought it is a pretty good game.
The game play is pretty sweet. The campaign kicks ass. And believe it or not, I actually like the Generals engine :shock:
The battles are epic, and heros really spice up the gameplay without being too overpowered. every hero has a weakness
I also like that map control means ALOT in this game. It forces you to rush out and grab land to establish a foward base, if you dont, you will be at a huge resource disadvantage later in the game.
The only complaint I have against the game is some of the 'Evenstar' or 'The One Ring' powers. The points are too easy to get, and the higher ranked powers can pretty much win you the game outright.
Other than that, great game. highly recommended to any LoTR or RTS fan
