Lol why do you hate it?
mainly because every time mainstream media talks about metal bands, or hardcore bands, they refer to them as Hard rock. Rock is rock, hardcore is hardcore metal is metal, they are different. metal is not rock, s it pisses me off when people say "hard rock. either say what form of rock it is (progressive classic, etc. ) or if its not rock, call it what it is, dont genrealise

You do realize that the media came up with the terms in the first place... right?
And the cover is fuckin awesome.

Curiouser and curiouser...

yea, I just hate people who use it because it shows they either A) lack knowledge about the music or
don't really follow that form of music

I would be more specific about the genre but I find it really hard to categorize my own music. I also wouldn't want to pigeonhole myself into one genre, ideally I'd like my music to span out over multiple genres aka Mr. Bungle, Clutch, Dog Fashion Disco and the likes.
Being more specific about what genre I am would also make it seem like I strive to fit into that genre. So I call it Hard Rock, because I think it's heavier then what I would call rock, and softer then what I would call metal.

there was a time when people just listened to rock music and didn't give a damn what kind of rock it was
