same as the video cards but processors. Every one knows a good computer is based on it's processor. So i was (and sure every one else is too) what do you prefer?
Although i am currently using an Intel 3.0 hyperthread, i prefer AMD i would much rather have a 3000+ 64bit AMD, but i'm stuck with this old intel
Fixed double post for you -Ximensions

AMD has way way more features than intel, and it uses less power, and makes less heat.
clock speed for clock speed, the amd will waste an intel thanks to features.

the world of prcoessors has become a two tier society, AMD is for people who own (the haves) and intel is for those who want an AMD ( the have nots)...simple as that and enuf said

I would rofl eternally to see a future 3.6ghz AMD sit beside an Intel 3.6.... omg that would be absolute murder.... unimagineable.

ya all the intel fan boys would cry if that happened, at least they would know not to trust inflated megahertz counts in the future and corporate advertising of people with blue painted faces

It all depends on what you plan on using the computer for. Intel excels in areas that AMD lacks in and vice versa. But for everyday home use and video game playing AMD is the way to go.

Pentium can take its hyper threading and shove it!

This poll will obviously be biased towards AMD here since by far the majority this forum consists of gamers...and AMD is typically the gamers choice.
For the love of God, it's spelt r i diculous!

I use Intel for two reasons, way back, my friend had a kickin' AMD computer (remember, back in the day...) an 1800! It had a serious caching problem though. 70% of the time when he tried to start starcraft or whatever system would lock up. 70%... that's no good. 1% or less if fine for me.
Also, Intel pwns AMD when it comes to multitasking. You should see my taskbar. FILLED! One more thing. I'm a big linux fan and so I have VMWARE with Linux running in the back, the Hyperthreading helps with performance.

No kidding, I bet after buying a nice brand new Athlon 64 I would get IE opened, MS Word, and MSN Messenger and omfg the comp starts bogging down. That's almost believeable
