I like Slayer and just want to see other peoples opinions about the?

PLEASE Don't post just to remind me that you think Slayer are all Nazi's or that people who listen to metal will go to hell or stuff like that.

I really like Slayer. I haven't heard anything newer than South of Heaven though, I'll have to check their newer stuff out sometime.

Anyways, I'm going to report this topic not because it's against the rules, just because it should be merged with the Metal Thread. Please post there in the future if your post has to do with metal.

yeah if i was a mod (hint hint) i would be merging it now.

anyway, they are one of my fave thrash bands. from 'Show No Mercy' to 'Seasons in the Abyss' are all classic. the rest are fail except for 'Christ Illusion', i quite enjoy that one.

They made their point. They put out a few good songs but then started shoving the same shit into your face over and over again.
Same with Metallica tbh even though I never did like them in the first place. Fuck them and they're pussy shit against pirating music. Just shows they are in it for the money.

I could go all day about bands that are way overrated. "OMG LED ZEPPLIN IS TEH AWESOMEZZZZ" Yea okay -_-. I could show anyone a good band with almost the same sound but 10 times better. (The Black Keys).

I think they're ok, very overrated though, especailly 'Reign in Blood' i respect it for what it was for its time but...Yeh i like about 2 songs on that album and people rave on about it all day. I liked Show no Mercy and Hell Awaits more.

Seriously though I'm not that big on Slayer. Mostly because of the vocals, but also because their songs just don't do it for me. Kind of the same reason I never liked Black/Death metal

Probably my favourite mainstream band. They're good, I'll only listen to the Reign in Blood and the essentials off some of the other albums. They put on a great live show though.
People complain they haven't changed their sound in releases (ok maybe that diabolus album is an exception), but had they changed I bet you'd have just as many people or more complaining.

I used to be really into them till I realised that they were boring. There last album was terrible. Kerry King can't really play either Jeff seems to be supporting the band. But these are my opinions. Overall I agree with "They are overrated".
