Well if you find yourself with a dirty monitor and no window cleaner I have a solution for you. Just dilute a cap of rubbing alcohol into some water and get yourself a couple paper towels and your good to go. Just cleaned my LCD and its good as new, you'll want some kind of glare on the screen so you can spot the smudge marks. Be sure to TURN OFF THE MONITOR.

Enjoy your new sexy clean monitor. icon_razz.gif

I'm sure some, if not most, people already know this but I figured it'd help out those that dont and hate having dirty monitors.

Share your ways to get a monitor clean besides the one above. This thread can be a resource icon_biggrin.gif

This is exactly what has been going on through the entire thread, and it's not the first time either.
You come to us for advice..you just spell out what you want to get, and then ask us if it is okay, and we have to explain why it isn't. That's the world upside down.. If you would just say 'hey guys, I have an X amount of money, what should I buy?' Then this would be over in 2-3 posts, not 2-3 pages.

Not much more than a paper towel would absorb. You dont need much. Say a 1/2 cup of water.

Too much water will result in dead pixels if it gets under the screen FYI. Also, the minerals in water can cause serious streaks, which looks bad.

Yea you use demineralized water. I just mix it half and half with 70% rubbing alcohol. Do not put the solution directly onto your screen, put it on the cloth first then clean.

A SLIGHTLY damp microfiber cloth = win.

This is why you squeeze the excess water out, you dont want any running water. Rubbing alcohol solutions leave no streaks.
