I like to talk during the first bit. Mind you I'm far far from pro at SC. I just play it for fun. I didn't know putting gathers on their own mining thing was more efficient. I just pooled them all on the closest one first because they clip don't they?

Mebbe, as far as I know ur supposed to separate them. I could be wrong.

You separate them so they don't waste time going from the first mineral you assign them to, then to find an open mineral chunk to harvest. It means more minerals quicker, every little advantage counts in starcraft.
To win rts, be prepared to lose...a lot.

Speaking of advantages. What are some more. other than close depots at the minerals, and seperating workers. I would like to be enlightened.

Seperate your Depots so that they won'tall go Kaboom from a few Scarabs.

Oh and you can try weiman's way of surrounding a Turret with Depotsso that DT's are like "OMFG WTF!!!!!"

I would suggest using a combination of the cc and depots, leaving an opening on the same side as your scv's. That way it takes fewer supply depots (it's finished sooner) and when dt's / dt drop comes, just block with scv's.

Most people don't really build a wall around their turrets though, could be too much of a hassle

In my fooling around with Terran I found the best way to protect a turret was to lift off the ebay and then build a turret underneath. They can't focus fire it, it's very handy.

It really helps, I've tested it a few times. I do it every single game I play, but when I didn't do it my APM dropped by 50, and I mean my whole game APM, all the way through. Also I didn't respond to my enemy rushes that well, when I wasn't "APM spamming"
