4 all those in doubt, or have never been to a sound studio, the stuff on the walls are not there to be pretty (tho Geoff did try to make it look good by switching the colors around) Those deals have edges like that so that any sound they don't absorb is reflected away from the user.

I cant see how gaming is possible on that screen unless you run non native resolutions. But great rig for video editing. Does the 8800GTS support aided rendering (off load render work to the GPU) or is that an ATI only thing?

im not trying to be liek a n00b or anything, but isn't that liek a MOTU 828mkII you have there Mr. Lapaire, and not a 824mkII. I have an 828mkII in my studio, and i'll say it looks uncannily like your piece. i'm not sure if they even make a 824mkII. a google search on it turned up nothing. sorry, i'm a pro n00b and just thought i'd do what a pro n00b does and point out stupid things like that.

The soundcard setup looks sweet. I think my next upgrade for my rig will be a nice soundcard and some hueg speakers since the rest of my rig is pretty up to date. Your workspace is so much cleaner than mine D:

Actually, streetweasel...

I worked for Mark of the Unicorn (MOTU). What Geoff has is most likely an 828mkII.

The hardware unit is the 828mkII. There is a PCI card called the 424-e or 424-x card, but that only goes with the PCI units. The 828mkII is a firewire/usb2 unit.

As a suggestion, he should probably look into getting the 828mkIII, which should be available soon. ^_^

Oh, also, for those of you that were talking about the 'studio foam'. If you go back and watch the WoW is a Feeling 'music video' where Davin was singing, you'll see the same foam. Though what Geoff has in his 'office' looks more wooden to me than foam. *shrug* Whichever, I'm sure its purpose is to soften the sound waves and what not. ^_^
