To much such a naive statement as that, I would guess you DON'T have much experience playing other RPGs. Besides, you can hardly compare a single player game to a massively multilayer online game. They are two very separate, distinct gaming experiences.

I would argue that in it's prime, Dark Age of Camelot was better than World of Warcraft.

I'm having more fun with LOTRO then I did beginning in WoW where there seemed to be absolutely no one around to help in the beginning areas.

If you think wow is a good rpg, you havent played rpgs long enough, lets see rpg's better then wow are chorno triger, shining force, shining force 2, every fire emblem game ever, tales of phantasia and shymphonia, golden sun 1 and 2, final fantasy 8, final fantasy 12, final fantasy 2, almost every ff game for that matter, and the dragon quest games, lunar knights, castlevania dawn of sorrow/aria of sorrow, pokemon (rofl), super mario rpg, paper mario 1 and 2,disgaea 1 and 2, makai kingdom, oblivion even tho im not into them that much still better then wow, secrect of mana, earth bound, shinigami tensai series, terrinigima, phantasy star, i could name so many so ill stop there. and mmo's that are better then wow are anything f2p cuz i dont have to give money to waste my time

however i am just raising the issue that i know alot of people claim that WoW is crap when they are lvl 40ish, but i know alot of people that say that WoW only becomes the amazing game that it is when you reach the highest level and start raiding for higher items.
I personally do no play WoW, i am just raising the issue for discussion

which is also why WoW isn't the best RPG ... not everyone has time to reach the highest level that fast, and be bored that entire time before it. A game shouldn't ONLY be fun at the highest level, it should be fun the entire way through.

What you're basically saying is, you've never played WoW and your opinion is
made from no factual basis, and that you're too dense to even bother trying to
find out if your opinion is fact, or just that.

I've been playing RPGs for a loooong time, longer then just about anyone my
age (which isn't THAT old, but since I've grown up with gamer uncles and the
like, RPGs have been around as long as I've played games in general) and I
can honestly say that WoW is a really great MMORPG. I played EQ/EQ2, FFXI,
D&D Online, LineageII, GW, LOTRO, Star Wars Galaxies, and countless other
free/beta MMORPGs, and they all have good points and down sides, but WoW
has a nice balance of the pluses they all share while cutting down on the fails
you have to put up with. It's fun, thats just the fact of it, theres a reason it's
become the biggest MMO on the planet.

NOW, thats not to say it's the best RPG experience out there. Best MMORPG
doesn't mean that some of the single-player RPGs aren't a lot more fun, but
it's only the staunch idiots who go on about how bad WoW is, a majority of
whom haven't even played it more then the trial, or they just want to be
"original" and dislike it because it's so popular. Some people don't like it,
it's not a game for them and I can understand that, but to say it just sucks
is a completely n00b thing to say.

I played WoW for a few weeks, made it to level 20 and couldn't take the boredom any longer, most boring, repetitive, slow quests I've ever seen in any MMO. I bet my grandma has more fun on solitaire. I prefer to play games that are fun all the way through. I don't understand how the WoW players even admit that the entire game is really pathetic, until you finish the game and start playing the end-game content after lvl 60, now 70..... Which takes 100's of hours to achieve. Who in their right mind would willingly play a shitty boring game for 200+ hours so he/she could have mild fun after that? One of my mates that used to play WoW used bots to level up till 70 because the game was so bad that he couldn't take playing it and wanted to go straight to the endgame content.

Before I tried out WoW I played guildwars for about a year. After a while I thought that got boring, until I played WoW... rofl. After playing WoW, guildwars was like the best MMO ever in comparison to fun and gameplay. Guildwars is a game where you can play a campaign from start to finish and be happy the whole way through, and then still have fun with endgame content. It has

1) cutscenes,
2) very easy grouping,
3) and you can take NPC's with you if theres no one around.

This is where wow failed second most for me.
Most being that It had the worst gameplay I'd ever played in my entire life.

Not all WoW players say it's boring all the way through, those are the n00bs who play
by themselves the whole time like, say, how you described the way you played.

It's an MMO, you're supposed to find groups, work together, and have fun, it's not
MEANT to be played the way an FPS or RTS is played, an people who look to play it
that way of COURSE aren't going to enjoy themselves, they're n00bs.

You got to 20, and you sucked at getting there, don't blame the game because you don't
know the proper way to play an MMORPG.

MMORPG vs. RPG: comparing a single player game with a multiplayer game. The idea fails already.

WoW is just addictive, but it will be outdone. I don't want to even begin to list it's many imperfections.

You must be the first guy I've ever known to like WoW all the way through.
I've been playing MMO for like 6 years, so I'm not noob. Was in one of the best Guildwars teams for a while aswell

Because I know HOW to play them.

Guild Wars is fun, don't get me wrong, but it's not like your traditional MMORPG, it
doesn't run by the same rules and standards that the rest do, especially with the
level cap and, frankly, lack of shit to do after awhile. After maxing my account with
20s and getting bored with the arenas, the game lost it's interest to me and I sold
it to my cousin for $40. I'm not putting it down as a game, it's a lot of fun especially
being free-to-play and all, but it's not really good as a comparison MMO.

Now, you want to play a REALLY tedious MMORPG? Endgame a character on FFXI,
then and only then will you understand what boring can be, especially since after
you finish, theres absolutely nothing left to do with that character, so you endgame
another one.

The people who really like WoW, who AREN'T fugly n00bs who sit in their basement
apartments all day eating cheetos in their Horde underoos, understand the workings
of lvling as a group, making long-term gaming buddies to level with, and generally
not worrying about making it to the next level. Instead, we have fun just playing,
enjoying using our skills and spells on mobs and the other faction and generally
laughing it up on vent or party chat.

It's a matter of how you play.

Nobody is actually saying it's better then all RPGs.

And if all you play WoW is for the raids, bgs, and arenas, you're playing
an MMORPG for the wrong reason, it's that simple, so people really should
be saying THAT instead of what you're saying.

Just on the MMO side: I prefer Star Wars Galaxies (before the kill-patch), EQ1, LotRO, UO, and PlanetSide (note PS is barely a traditional RPG).

Galaxies was EPIC before they gave it the patch of fail.

Srsly, I used to play that game so hard, but with the death of
it, now WoW took the top spot... until Warhammer Online comes
out, I'm really looking forward to that game.

I actually just got back into City of Heroes. Not a huge community but its pretty fun nonetheless. But I do miss WoW. Eventually I may go back.

But right now , back to Call of Duty 4 ...
