Final Fantasy 8
It was my first experience with FF other than playing it on the NES. I loved the gunblade, storyline and the Draw system. The cardMOD was pretty sweet and having your summons learn diffrent shit was cool.
FF9 was pretty awesome too. 4 people on the battle field?! SWEET!
Of course FF7 is always good.

Final Fantasy IX, mainly because it's the only FF game i've ever had the patiance to finish. However it is still one of the best RPG games i've ever played.

FF8-The Junction system was amazing, the story was perhaps one of the greatest things ever written, the FMV sequences were absolutely breathtaking at the time (still r imo), and its perhaps the most satisfying of all of them to beat. In fact, I still play it like 3-4 times a year and it doesn't get old. FF9 and FF7 would be a tie for a close 2nd.

Final Fantasy 8
Junction System, the FMV's, The storyline and character development are all top notch, also it was the first FF I ever beat or owned,
I seriously have to play through this game again..
Next would be X.. Then X2.. I like Metal, But 1000 words was kick ass
I started to play 9 a long time ago, but only made it to the part in the beginning after your air ship crashes in the jungle and you travel a bit.. And get to an ice cave.

FFIX
It is the most polished FF imo. The pre-rendered backgrounds (which it is the last to have) are beautifully done, the translation and dialog is the best in the series, the animations are great, it captures the feel of the classic final fantasies and keeps it simple while having the graphics and control of the later generation.
It absolutely feels like the most complete FF game, it never felt or looked glitchy in any place...it didn't feel like any part of the game was sacrificed for another making certain parts feel empty, pointless, or not thought-out. The mini-games are actually FUN! No hating Chocobos like in FF7.
It is the only one in the series I can play again and again and still greatly enjoy it and actually end up finishing it more than once or twice. I have 6 completed save game files...

FF7. It's just so damn awesome. Best RPG I have ever played ^^
But I've spend much more time on X. The Blitzball minigame is a real time consumer

You like Final Fantasy 7, because you don't like one of the characters in Final Fantasy 12?

i like ff7 because IMO overall its a better game, but to me one of the important aspects of an RPG is the story, thats why i thought ff12 was a huge letdown coz tbh i didn't care what was happening to the characters, so i didn't have any real reason to play the game
plus i prefer the old battle system and world map aswell

i've played FFIX FFVIII and FFVII. its kinda backward i started with IX rather than VII hehehe
just like some of you i also loved FFIX coz it really gives you the idea of a fantasy just by looking at the unique looking characters.
i also like VII which i believe is kinda pure drama and tragedy.
and when i got my ps2 i quickly get FFX on the store shelves. it's great but still tragic.
but i kinda hated what they did on the sequel. i looks like Charlie's angels
FFXII is cool you don't need to use the controller..
FFXI MMORPG?!? cool
at the end its FFIX will still be the best for me.
