the reason to make such a big deal of the fact that Christianity and other religions borrowed stuff, is because that would mean the stories are just made up, and they are fake. People base their lives around these religions, and do exactly what they think theyre expected to do. They are living their lives based around lies, its a way of controlling people. Just like 9/11, Bush struck fear into the peoples eyes in order to get them to support his agenda. Many people are being manipulated and they should be aware of it.

Yes. Religions, which if followed properly basically promote being a good person and living a good life, are just control tactics. It definitely wasn't just opportunists in positions of power using them that way. [/sarcasm] Seriously. You don't have to believe in them yourself. You certainly have the right to believe and not believe whatever you want. But at least respect that others do actually believe in these things. Debasing someone's core beliefs just because you're at that rebellious stage and want to rabble rouse makes you a douche.
Also, though I do think Bush definitely used 9/11 to his advantage, I highly doubt he actually had anything to do with it. More likely, they were looking for an excuse, saw some terrorists were planning something, and let it happen.
As for the North American Union, I know the American government is pretty corrupt, but in Canada there's no way in hell that would get passed without the people getting wind of it. The PM's power is kept very much in check here.

okay, maybe religion is a way of keeping people in line, and it gives them faith. However theyve been lied to, why would they want to base their life off of lies, and what theyve been told to do? they should live for themselves, figure shit out for themselves. 9/11 was definitely an inside job. The buildings fell at freefall speed, it was on the same day NORAD was doing simulations for plane hijackings, thats why the planes were able to get to the buildings, because they had like 20 other "exercise" hijackings going on, and they couldnt seperate the ones that were actually hijacked from the exercises. Some jackoff living in a cave wouldnt have the intelligence to set that up on the same day, this was also not the first time that something like that happened. On top of all that the columns (which were made to take impact from a boeing 747) was in a molten state for up to 5 weeks after 9/11, there is only one chemical that can melt steel, and that is thermite. Also please, someone explain how world trade tower #7 dropped? no planes hit it, and it was barely covered on the news, they say it fell from fire, fire doesnt melt steel. The reason Osama hasnt been caught is because he is being kept alive by the United States. Fire fighters and policemen that were actually at ground zero saw these molten columns and explained them as being like lava, or being in a foundry. and by the way I did google WTC 7, the only reasons I found were total bullshit, maybe debris would damage the face of the building, but the columns would not fall from debris, and they wouldnt fall from fire. 1.NORAD was basicly doing simulations once a month. but even when they were doing simulations, they still had planes ready to defend america. I find it laughable that you think that america wouldnt have more then few planes in its airforce.

WTC towers were designed to take impact of a medium / small sized plane with low fuel, looking for air port.

it was not design for a fucking huge plane with full fuel tank in full speed.

There's also a lot of factual disparities throughout, and claims that they can in no way back up.

Seriously. I'm all for objective thinking. The problem is, Zeitgeist acts like it lets the viewer draw their own conclusions, but it doesn't. They constantly make statements like "therefore, such and such is this way" and basically deride the intelligence of anyone who disagrees.
Remember, a skeptic doesn't refuse to believe one thing or refuse not to believe another. A skeptic simply demands proof.

It's easy to get caught up in all this when you've been given a very ethnocentric view of things all your life. Believe it or not though, every government isn't as corrupt as the American one, which is why the new world order people would never be able to achieve their goal. A new American order maybe.
Hell, your profile says you're from Toronto. You've seen the Canadian government. Elected officials in this country get kicked out of power over things a lot smaller than a North American Union.

I think the main problem with this movie is that it has a few good points, but they get lost in a sea of crazy, and then those points look crazy by association. For example, a lot of people are aware of how fucked up the whole Federal Reserve system is. It's gotten mixed in with these other conspiracy theories though, which makes it harder to start a serious argument on.

I also think it's ironic that a lot of people who watch such an 'enlightening' movie seem brainwashed in their devotion to it afterwards.

I have to give you credit. A lot of people who get involved with this movie aren't able to change their opinion after new information becomes available to them. You've proven to be more rational than them.
There likely has been suggestions of a NAU, but it wouldn't be advantageous to Canada, and it'd be damn near impossible to pass anything, let alone something that big, without the public getting wind of it and stopping it.

There are several borrowed items in the Hebrew Bible. The RCC added some trivial shit on to make Christianity match pagan religions.
