That's very true, though if they did that they would have to make it the ACTUAL official radio station. At this point, we don't really advertise for Pure Pwnage (I'm actually working on an advertisement now to fix that) and even if we did, they would still need to accept us as the official radio station...because that's what we'd be.

I'm perfectly happy with it just being a fan-run thing. It's on the side, it's not making money (save for anything people want to donate) and it's still in its infancy. We JUST figured out how to get an auto-pilot running for when people can't fill their sets.

Eventually I'm sure this radio station will kick off and people will be fighting to connect and listen. ^^ We just need to be patient.

lol funny you should mention that Kait. when i was doing an update to the site recently, i stuck a load of pure pwnage banners up! quite a few people have talked about this becomming official and linked on the main site. Its a great idea, however the problem I see with that is the fact that it is still, in essence, a fan-run thing. if Geoff or whoever puts Pure Phonix on the main Pure Pwnage page, they would be flooded with all the other fan sites saying "HAY! PUT US UP THERE TOO!!" The PP Artchive and all the (probably) hundreds of other sites that are out there would want in, and there simply isnt enough room on the front page for that kinda stuff.

With that said, what they could do is maybe make a new page on the main site for "Affilliates/Official Fan Sites" or something similar, that has a massive list of all the sites. Would be a good place to post up things like Hak5, Winding Gears and of course Pro@Cooking too just a thought... may put that idea to one of the root admins later and see what they think

Ive looked around this topic a little to see what i need to play this but im a liiiiitle confused, so what exactly do i need to download?

yes, anything that will play a .pls file will work, the favorite being WinAmp. You will then need the pls file itself, which you can find by clicking the "download" link just below the embedded player, or simple point your browser to http://listen.purephonix.com. Of course you can always use the embedded flash player on the site itself, as that works just as well and saves you having to install any programs lol obviously if you are having problems with the embeded player, give us a shout. im starting to get the impression that people dont like it for some odd reason and itd be nice to figure out why. any suggestions on that are most welcome

What do you need a whole section for? Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of having the Pure Phonix forums? Seems kind of unnecessary and confusing, should just be one place to go, and the purephonix site seems to be the place, considering it already has its' own forums.

well i dunno, if we ended up with our own forum section on here, we could do away with the purephonix forums all together. would make things more centralized and make sure that we dont split off into our on little private community lol. would also raise awareness of the pure phonix station which is never a bad thing

while we're on the subject, what happened to this thread getting moved to the music forum so i can maintain the info?

I know this is an oldish thread, and I don't know how you are on DJs, but I used to have a dedicated show over on prankcallradio.com. I specialize in talk/pranks/techno DJing. Most of my pranks are voice acting. I do 20+ characters ranging from Sean Connery to Elmo.

I've been on Stern a couple of times (as Connery), and done some work with Zolar and High Pitch Erik.

basicly what we do if you listined on the ep 16 relase is a marathon of Gaming and Pure Pwnage related material and we what were gonna do what we didnt do before is get all the DJs together and do fun compitions and contests with the listners

This is a stupid question but dont you need the rights to whatever song you play? Or is that only for the real radio and it dosnt really pertain to internet radio?

yup. not long to go now either. Will hopefully be re-launching this weekend so you all better get your h4x on and keep an eye on the site over the next few days, as we have a few epic supprises in store for all you lovely people! As Mr Clean quite rightly said, we have a brand new "vista-esque" look and feel to the site, pages are much better laid out, we have changed to a new server (still with mouse-mouse but the old account expired due to lack of funds - my bad lol ) and, we have not one, not even two, but *THREE* whole streams! you will all have to wait and see what that's all about though, but I think some of you will be pleasently supprised at the content for the second and third channels running in parallel to the main pure phonix one. On top of all that, we plan to launch with our first ever proper "event", which we have lovingly dubbed "Pure Pwnage: Summer Excess"! A full 9 days dedicated to colaborative DJ sets, which will feature a whole host of summery/gamer/PP related tunes, competitions and all kinds of other random stuff.

As if that wasnt enough, lots of other minor features have been introduced, such as the DJ backroom (DJ's only im affraid ) and a proper imbedded IRC client on the front page complete with our own IRC channel that anyone can use for pure phonix related chat which replaces the old crappy "request's" box. Yes ladies and gents, pure phonix is relaunching in a big way. Make sure you keep an eye on the site, and tune in once everythying goes live <333
