This country IS NOT capitalist. We may LOOK like it, smell like it, taste like it, but once you get passed the candy coating we are just a pile of shit.


This culture is use to being the "new kids on the block" with "daddies trust fund" to back it up when we fuck everything up. Which is why I think that going more socialist would benefit the country, because we are composed of ignorant bastards and people who hate ignorant bastards.


If we were to become a TRUE capitalistic state, we'd end up separating, which is fine by me.

TBH my ideal system would be a complete dismantle of the federal government and then an over haul on the state system.


Each state would be its own country, all moral, social and criminal law would be passed on it going by the Constitution of the former USA. The economy would be a totally state driven system, but using the already established dollar still.


So essentially, we'd be like Europe, only in North America.


but since that will never happen... I don't really care anymore which side wins. they both have there ups and downs, I just like Obama better than McCain because McCain has a fat face..... that and he is a goddamn honey!

we will be fine so long as mccain gets in. it'd be the only thing stopping the extreame left from taking complete controll of the country. right now, things are kinda at a standstill, apparently thats what the masses wanted. they were pissed off at the republican congress for not doing enough, so they sent a edict to the hill and voted a lot of them out.

the end result was even more stagnation due to grandstanding.

with the left in controll they didn't try to acomplish anything, they simply focused on causing chaos to force the country over the cliff with bush in office. this is exactly what they wanted. historic low approval rating for a sitting president, yet even lower ratings for them.

they don't care, they just want to ruin everything so stupid people would blame bush and elect whatever lib puppet they shoved in front of us.

this year they pulled out the big guns, hoping the backlash from the steps they are taking don't nip them till after maobama is in office.

after that they have two full years to implement the shit they want like the "fairness" doctrine (see government controlled media).

what shocks me is that people are too blind to see the basic nature of everything that is happening.

everything the left talks about is exactly what communist marxist nations start as. socialism is simply communism-lite.

if the dems get there way we'll be the Weimar Republic. it'll take a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread. but thats ok they'll just keep printing more and keep raising the minimum wage and taxes...so long as the idiot masses keep getting the free table scraps they are happy and they'll keep pulling the lever for more and more socialism until they wake up one day with what came directly after that historical inflationary nightmare.

What then? You can hide out... or... you could rebuild something better. Something not democratic but new. Not communist. if i were to start my own country, i'd do the smart thing and just model it on the constitution.

it worked great until the socialists came along and fucked it all up.

the first settlers to this country tried to start with a socialistic government, they almost starved to death before they realized that capitalism is the only fair way to go. reward those who contribute to the community and it tends to motivte people to do so.

same goes for rewarding people for not contributing, it will always motivate people to not contribute.

sure it can never work in USA but its not like a hint of socialism turns you in to next Nazi germany / USSR.

First, I will agree that the Democrat controlled congress has done a shitty job. Still, you can't honestly believe that Bush looking bad is a giant conspiracy against him. The man has fucked things up. People from all parties should be able to realize that.

Canada had the Liberal party in power for most of the 20th century, who among other things brought in various socialist policies. A Conservative PM implemented the NDP idea of national health care, and it's worked out great. We can have that work because our country isn't retardedly partisan, because that's bad for everyone and makes it impossible for real progress to be achieved, like in the States.
We have many socialist policies, and we definitely aren't a communist country, nor or we on the verge of it. We're not close to disaster, but rather, we have one of the best standards of living in the world. We have the best banking system in the world, and a capitalist economic system.

I'm in favor of lower taxes, less regulation, and am not a socialist myself, but I'm not stupid enough to think that socialist policies are going to be the end of civilization.
