I would sign up for the GA if I had PayPal/Credit Card and if my bank did money mail orders.

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 a direct port of the console version?
Infinity Ward: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

I didn't get the video. I had no idea what was going on or what any of that stuff was. If anything it kind of made me want to join less.
I'd actually tend to agree, I'm not sure why they thought this would be attractive to those of us who are PP fans but not immersed in this side-project. The GA seems as esoteric as ever, and frankly I still have no fucking idea what it is, or what the $20 "admission fee" is for.

I know what an alternate reality game is, like I said I've dealt with them before in the form of The Lost Experience, but I'm still in the dark about the GA.

Interesting.
So, not only is the GA an ARG, but it's an additional set of sub-forums and a community within the community?
Hmm.
I'm guessing the A9 or Special Operations division is the actual ARG component of the GA, while the rest is just a new "donators only" community.

Yep, absolutely. At first I thought the GA was just a subscription-based fanclub, but now I have no idea what the hell it is and the incentive for joining is even further diminished. Anyone who's familiar with my posts on these boards knows I'm an ardent supporter of the PP crew, but I can't say I'm in aggreance with them on this one, this seems like the perfect recipe to alienate and esoterically sub-divide the community. Probably won't come to that, but it has the potential.
But whatever, if people are having fun with it, power to them I guess.

Personally I was very pleasantly surprised at how in depth GA is. If i had the money I would join in a second. But the again... I doubt there would be much of the activities happening in South Dakota, lol!

It's all down to ROFLMAO and if the community wants it.

You can't run the GA single-handedly, it was being developed and ran whilst PP was during its web era, so it had first-hand help from the guys and if there isn't a community there, they won't want to invest their time into it when they're already working on so much other projects on the side instead.
