I had a chance to sneak off and check out the Arcadia Festival in Montreal last weekend. As a first-timer, I'd describe it as a weird mix of expo, LAN and nightclub. It has some new and/or fancy games to see and play, a variety of tournaments, Guitar Hero 3 areas, couches and consoles, retro games, Guitar Hero 3 areas, portable games, various PC setups, and Guitar Hero 3 areas. It also has shiny lights, live music, and beer available at the concession (ftw). I've been having some fun with our new still camera lately, so I brought it along and snapped these pics.

Is this the same Camera Geoff had at the Ep14 premiere in TO? It looked nice but some of those pics..it really needs some tweaking and adjusting icon_confused.gif

haha those were some awesome pics jarett. I love your pics of the people playing GH3 and I completely agree that game is fucking awesome. (So close to beating dragonforce on expert I can taste it)

It's the Canon EOS 5D.

The place was covered with non-stop moving multi-colored lights (which you can see in Teh End). That plus the overall club-like darkness of the event (and not having a flash) made it easily the most difficult conditions I've shot in yet. Fifteen minutes in I was thinking of giving up - I could snap 10 pics in 3 seconds of the same subject with the same settings and each one would have drastically different results! pp_smiley5.gif Btw if anyone is pr0 @ photoshop or photography, I'd love to hear some constructive feedback (PM me!).

Glad you guys dig the pics, it's a blast for me to take them!

And it was great meeting you too Lauren, congrats again on pwning MVG 2007!
