Well for the US. Funny how we got it even before Japan.
Anyway some of you, myself included, got their beloved Wii on launch. It's crazy to think that it's almost been out a year already. Maybe Nintendo will give a present to Wii owners on November 17th. I'll be waiting for that blue light. In my opinion the Wii is the best Nintendo console. I'm gonna have a birthday party for my Wii.
So post stories of how you got your Wii, pictures, and experiences.
Ah crap. Move this to Console.

Not only on launch, but I camped out for mine. Best night ever tbh.
Happy birthday (soon) Wii!

I beat Jarett in Tetris. Once. Then he beat me four times straight. But still, I beat him once!

was going to buy one quite some time after launch(the only system I bought at launch was the DS), but then my gf stopped me as apparently it was to be an anniversary present(been with her 5 years), she had to go away in August for work though so I ended up getting it a bit early.

Yea, time flys. I don't have one but I remember my friends getting one on their birthday which was only like two weeks after the Wii came out or something like that. Still not into consol games though.

That was a great day. Me and some friends camped out at our local Wal Mart. They had 27 Wiis and I think just over 30 people came. By sunrise, the 27 were gone and the late people went home. I remember as soon as the store opened, my friend said we should go and get the games first because we were guaranteed consoles anyway. So I got Red Steel (and partly regret it now tbh) and my one friend got Twilight Princess. Then we went to my house and hooked up my Wii and me and my friend tried RS and TP and Wii Sports for a few hours.
Totally worth the six hours of standing out in the cold. Totally.

It's hard to believe, I got mine last Christmas and will have almost had it for a year now yet have barely touched it. The games I bought it for include Mario Galaxy and the new Smash Bros game which are getting closer!

I don't see anything grammatically incorrect in what I said, are the games I purchased it for not getting closer?
I didn't think this would be the type of forum where someone would make a post purely to point out what they believe is a grammatical or vocabulary error.

Um no it's just that smash bros brawl isn't out yet. Your grammar was fine.

The sentence was "The games I bought the Wii for". Meaning, the Wii has been purchased, but the reason for buying the Wii has yet to come.
Happy birthday, Wii! I shall play you all night to celebrate! (is it ironic that I found this thread on the 19th?)

I loved waiting in line for Wii. I'm gonna wait in line for Brawl now. There's nothing better than midnight releases.

A few friends and I went out to buy some drinks/food and invited a few gamers to play with us. 3 Wiis hooked up to 3 different HDTV's . Fun time.

No, it's coincidental. Ironic means you found it when you wouldn't have expected to have so maybe if you found it a year later (the second anniversary) then it would be ironic (because this is for the first anniversary).
