Looks great on max, but runs awful (5-10 FPS with an 8800GTS 640MB @ 600/900 and X2 4400+ @ 2.75GHz). Not sure if this demo uses DX10 or not, though, because there's no option for it. I'm installing the newly released 169.01 drivers right now, though (just released in beta form, and apparently optimal for the Crysis demo).

can anyone confirm its real? i am also a bit sceptical about this one after hearing some of those complaints icon_confused.gif and fileplanet doesnt even have it, which is kinda the biggest site for demos (even though theres gay subscription stuff sometimes)

I really fucking hope the full game is better optimized than the demo. I can only run it on all low settings for like 10-20 FPS, and it doesn't look as good as Far Cry which runs on max for me at like 75 fps.

Ok, so I installed the new drivers, which did boost my framerate a bit--but, I now get severe mouse and keyboard lag when I try to play the demo. It's unplayable.

Lol.

It renders quite slowly, rocks and stuff appear when you get within 20 feet or so of them but it looks amazing on 1680x1050 with everything on LOW. It still looks better than anything I've ever played. Dunno what FPS never had FRAPS on, but I'm guessing around 40-50 and when there is a lot of stuff going on about 20-25. Probably have to run it on a lower res, but it owns. Can't wait for the full game.

Maybe UT3 engine beta demo runs the way it does cause of the graphics quality after all, and not performance optimization probs...

On a second play it seems to run a little better, now I get like 20-30 FPS instead of 10. But I was still expecting a little more optimization from Crytek.

Uh...can someone send me their "island.cry" (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Game\Levels\island) file? I was messing around with it in the Sandbox Editor, I quit and chose to NOT SAVE, yet it randomly decided to save. I don't want to re-install.

If it's anything like MP, you have to have shaders on HIGH and anti-aliasing off.
