Pity I never had a snes. I was reliant on whatever system my older brother had, but he did have a mega drive which was win.

well damn...i've got a CD right here with just about every nintendo and snes game ever made. if you want to play just download some emmulators and you'll have a vast library to choose from. the roms take about 1 second to download on dialup. it's great.
i'd suggest getting an SNES emmulator, and metal marines, un squadron, super mario rpg roms to get you hooked.

Sure, the games I love from that video are great for nostalgia, but there were so many others peppered in there that I vaguely remember that also give me a good feeling. Kind of hard to explain, but mostly like "OHhhhhh! I remember that one!"
Good times.
Good times.

I got chills from that.
I never owned an SNES, but I have an NES and a genesis. Ahhh the memories...
I have such fond memories of my brother and I getting an SNES game and spending ALL day playing it.
Thanks so much for posting that. I must show it to my friends.

There's a difference between recognising them and remembering growing up playing them. I remember growing up playing most of them, and only recognise a few.
Give up all you suckers we the tightest muthafuckas And you never seen us talking shit before now
You peelin' potatoes while we sonic alligators
Makin' records sellin' like we smokin' crack now
'Joe' -'what now'?
'We bad.' -'Bad how'?
'We make a track to shake a cow
and move you like you startin something nasty?
'And then' -What then?
'We do it again, don?t make no money for us to spend
on yachts and boats and planes and drugs and scooters?
- Hot Chip

To Confrico - I'm only 18 and I remember almost all of those games
Zelda: Link to the Past + Super Mario Brothers World = 1/2 of my childhood. Good times. (the other half was FF7 and the original Wild Arms)

I'm not quite 18 and I was around for a lot of these games.
And dammit who 16-20 didn't spend a quarter of their life with FF7
Anyways, not very old at all I guess = /

You know, A developer could take up to making classic games with the graphics and stuff...i mean....We consider it a art style now, so why not? its not hard to make. The games are highly and original and fun, and you dont need to program a 3D enviroment. SO why don't they?

Well I gamed primarily on the computer, so I wasn't exposed to the mass amounts of Nintendo games out there. Like excite bike, I never heard of that one until college. Only the big names like mario, nba jam, contra, zelda, spy vs spy, paper mario, etc. And the games in the arcades like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. But yeah, I was a PC gamer always and forever (Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, Doom, and others that aren't well known).

Oh lord, the nostalgia. My Sega Genesis, and the NES and SNES my friend had were some of my favorite moments I remember. I also remember playing the Duke Nukem and Doom games at my cousin's house (Duke Nukem 3D was the first game that I had ever seen in 3D at that time).
But yeah, a lot of noobs would probably be turned off by 2D games, and would be bad for the developers who need money. I know what you mean though, a lot of the old 2D games are really good, and there are some games that would only work in 2D (Like Contra). The best new old-school style game that I have played in a long time would have to be Cave Story. Every thing about that game was great TBH.
