So this is the question out to all you guys. I believe WOW's sales figures are still strong and the game is selling well. But I wont believe (untill prooven otherwise) there are more level 70 active accounts than there used to be. It just cant be so. Wow has just turned so appallingly bad these days that I refuse to believe people are stupid enough or addicted enough to continue playing for an extended length of time at 70.

Well the the challenge is set. Proove me wrong.

Doesn't seem much point to prove it to you if you refuse to believe it.

your assumptions are wrong, hence the WoW Community Shrinking thread. sales arent strong, hence the free month they offered existing players to keep ppl playing. if i were working for blizzard atm id be looking at the classified section all the time, just in case. cause i see downsizing coming soon.
In the year 2006 PLAYSTATION3 is created, in the year 2008 it becomes self-aware, renaming itself SKYNET.

Alot of level 70's i no have stopped playing at level 70, to have a break all of those people who spend all of there time getting full epics etc will be wasting there time due to the new expansion that will raise the level cap to level 80, so i just think that it is all a waste of time icon_razz.gif but whatever floats your boat hey icon_razz.gif

This is mainly directed at the people who say things like "oh they're raising the level cap to 80 there is no point in getting epics". Umm guys, this is a game, sure there is a population that play it not to do these things, but to do what ever else the game has to offer (a hell of alot) but remembering that it is a game, and there is play content, you do it because you want to finish it in some small sense, to see new content. I dunno about some people but raiding is really fun and experienceing new fights and overcoming them is great. So if I had a chance to see some new raid content even days before the expansion came out, I would.

Just putting it out there because I don't believe many people think about it in this way, but as a "omfg guyz let's get epix n stuffz" type situation.

Actually it's 35%

EDIT: mind you, lots of 70s have alts in the 30s, this isn't an extremly accurate number for the amount of players who haven't reached 70, but it's the actually percent of characters that are level 70

Not having one myself, but being in a guild with many 70's there is much to do, there are runs, PVP, gear and mounts to get, places to explore, etc.

Getting to 70 is only half the game really.

Yeah but lets break that down:

runs= grind up for gear
PVP= fun for awhile before it becomes grind with the occasional very fun (generally world PVP even if it is dead) event
Gear= grind
mounts to get= grind
Explore= not grind, kinda cool, buts it not exactly how ever 70 spends their time

I dont understand how someone can want to continue that torture.

that's even if you spend the time to get to 70. That was my biggest problem with WoW. Compared to late/end game, there is so little to do when you're a low level. You spend your 20s-50s doing nothing but grinding the same instance (if you want to go fast...) 15-30 times at least till you can finally move up to the next instance and repeat. then you get the amazing reward of being able to do that some more, but now with more people. Then you reach the level cap, and you actually have a choice of a few instances you can grind but now without the experience.

That is not fun.
