Zalman headset > all. I only use my speakerset if I need really heavy bas or when I'm with a friend. The soundquality is superb. The basses are strong enough, but they can't beat the subwoofer I got.

Prescott Pentium 4, 3.2GHz (tempted to overclock t0 4.16GHz.. no need yet and way too hot)
4 GB Corsair DDR PC3200
Radeon X800XT
Samsung 120 GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA HDD
Windows XP Pro (of course!)

I'm gonna kick myself when this shit becomes cheap, but I have the cash so why not spend it?? I may be a n00b, but my rig whips geeks! Unfortunately MY comp doesn't have the net... should maybe get it sometime... nah, too expensive icon_razz.gif LAN is all I need.

holy shit you got a nice rig.. thow i'll be up near you once i get my enw corsair DDR400 2 x 512 Rev2 icon_biggrin.gif timings are 2-2-2-5 .. it's gonna rape..

also why would you want ot overclock that far.. unless you have water cooling O_o .. i have mine overclocked to a 3.5, but i got a water cooling kit i'm gonna be putting in sometime soon and i'll see if i can get it to a 4.0 or something... but if your on stock air cooling i wouldn't try to overclock a prescott at all .. it just wouldn't turn out good

in case you didn't know.. GPU's are made to run at higher temperatures.. right now mine runs about 56-60 .. they are made to run at higher temperatures then a cpu because they are almost always being fully utilized your gpu running at 50 on idle is a great temp.. most gpus are made with withstand temps of 80+ celsius for long periods of time..

just using my old geforce 3 ti 200 and geforce fx 5900 as comparisons, both ran cool at 40 degree, the geforce 3 ti would overclock way high

Also, I tried oc'ing the 6800 gt but it would run unstable, It may be my low wattage power supply, 420 watt thermaltake?

Well running a GT I would recommend a bigger power supply, although I'm not sure if that would make a difference. What brand of card do you have for the 6800GT?

I would use a GeForce 3 Ti as a necklace, garbage tbh icon_wink.gif

I dunno exactly how much faster a processor cn be overclocked to, but I know of some at 30% atleast.

how much you can overclock depends on how you do it (bus or multiplier), amount of cooling, quality of the chip (cant measure that...), quality of the motherboard (you'll need lots of volts for the CPU, and a lot of settings in the bios that let you overclock), quality of the add-in cards (when you do bus overclocks without bus-lock) and just plain luck.
sometimes you cant even go over 5% (like my Athlon XP2000 with palomino core... gets waaaayyyy too hot already and if i set the bus 2Mhz higher the system aready becomes a little instable)
