First up is a new trailer for Sonic Rush Adventure on the DS. This, in my opinion, is the best news of the lot. The game looks like it will live up to the original, which was fantastic:

The second bit of news is a new trailer for Sonic Rivals 2 for the PSP. I’m shocked to say I think this game actually looks quite fun and if I had a PSP I’d probably want to invest in this one if it turns out as good as it looks here:

Promotional artwork for Sonic Riders 2:

Notice all these games have the 'r' title. Sonic Rush, Sonic Riders, and Sonic Rivals? Sorta pissed that Sonic Riders 2 is just going to be a port of a Ps2 game. Thats shit, it better have online play faggot drones!

It's actually the same (or about it seems) length plus exploration levels... the 'world' map is on the official site

Though Wi-Fi Racing should be fun, hopefully they improve it over the first one... I like the multiple paths in the levels so racing in it is worth it instead of just going straight like Sonic 2.

Sonic Rush was great. I hope it's as good as the last one.

Sonic riders was good, but it wasn't enough for me. Hopefully they can pull something out with this.

And IMO, If sonic games looked as good in game as they do in the CG movies, the world would freeze over in beauty

Where did you read that? I hope they'll implement the Wii's motion sensitivity in the game in a very fun way. Kind of like the way it's implemented in SSX Blur, I've heard that really worked out well. And as far as online play goes, I have to agree with you. It had beter be there!

Riders sucked, don't hold your breath for it.

SRA is getting bought as soon as it's released, though icon_smile.gif.
"Backwards compatibility, as you know from PlayStation One and PlayStation 2, is a core value of what we believe we should offer. And access to the library of content people have created, bought for themselves, and accumulated over the years is necessary to create a format. PlayStation is a format meaning that it transcends many devices -- PSOne, PS2, and now PS3" - Phil Harrison, Sony, December 2006.

It really didin't, I thought the same exact thing cause i couldn't get the hang of it. My cousin brought it over and we played it and its quite fun. Better then Double Dash (but what game isn't tbh) Not better then Mario Kart DS

Sonic Riders had nice shortcuts, though alot of people whined that all you had to do was memorize them all to be good. Maybe SEGA (or whatever team is doing this, since it isn't announced), will add better powerups to make it more 'party game' since the first one really wasn't IMO...

I think it has a chance of being a great racer if it wanted too.. The first one was average... not too bad.

Actually, I found it was nigh impossible to beat the story mode without the shortcuts, and you had to memorize most off them for the challenges, as to access the last set of rings or what not (Yeah I got super sonic, even though I thought he was just a rumor...)

I honestly think the tracks need to be a bit more... full. I mean, they're quick and fun, but the game goes by way too fast. Unless you play on the sega carnival level.

Sonic Rush was amazing, so I'll be buying Sonic Rush Adventure day one. Sonic Riders was okay, it was nothing spectacular, but if they mess around with it enough, it could be a really good racer. I don't gave a PSP, so I don't know how much I would want Sonic Rivals.

One of the things that I've noticed about Sonic games recently, is that they are focusing too much on the story. I mean what kind of story would a racing game need? I say to hell with the story, and focus on the game-play. I also don't like how they add a new character to every game that they make. Look at the Mario series, the last new character to be added was Waluigi, and that was for Mario Tennis on the N64.
