So, back when I played, Battlegrounds were the only choice of PVP, and they were MOBBED, hour long queues etc. But I realized, playing BGs, they weren't fun at all. People were just playing them to get honor/rank, and then get full GM gear, and not for fun. LAME. World PVP was DEAD, except for the odd encounter in Burning Steppes or EPL. The Towers game in EPL, the Silithus shit, and Halaa tried to bring it back, but without the reward of l33t epics, no one even tries.

I personally love World PVP. There's nothing more exciting for me than groups clashing, or hiding in the Inn cellar as the Alliance kills every player and NPC in all of Tarren Mill. But that rarely happens, and since it never happens, fun is rare. Before battlegrounds, all there was, was World PVP, and there was hot spots, and planned matches, like how fucking awesome is that?

I'd rather see world PvP come back, mainly because in BG's people just tunnel camp and it becomes impossible to win.

Wow... i was never around for world peeveepvee, i joined around time of battlegrounds, and so i missed out, but it looks VERY fun.

World pvp tends to lead to unbalanced 1v1 surprise fights, ganking and camping which no one likes. Battlegrounds and arenas are more controlled environments where you can optimize your group setup and strategy's against a equally numbered opponent team where you know your in a setting designed for pvp only and not get disturbed when your trying to complete some pve objectives. Also raids on enemy cities or towns are a huge waste of time, generally only killing lowbies and npc, I don't see the fun in that. While that video does look exciting you can get the same kind of action in arenas currently.

But... that's just the thing about BGs and Arenas. There's nothing completely ball busting about beating someone 1 to 1. But when a rogue pops behind you, brings you to half in a stunlock, and you STILL win, it's fucking awesome.

And it's so much more desperate, too. You don't want to die, because then you'll get camped, etc. etc. As for the village clearing, I think it's just fucking epic to be hiding in the cellar, waiting for those assholes to leave =P

Iunno, I just think it's so much cooler to be with a couple allied friends, when you notice the opposite faction just down the road...

Back when I played WoW the most fun I had was in world PVP. Good times =P is the only thing reason I'd go back to it, I tried playing more PVP orientated games like guild wars atm, but i really miss World PVP.

AV is fun but ever since the expansion on my battlegroup there are only like 2-3 AV's going at once unless it's AV weekend, and horde mainly loses

Want temporary world PvP? Join PTR! Aliance and Horde premades starts in Ghostlands in same spot - Aliance get slaughtered, but sometimes tries to take back some region by raiding it. If you dont stand in the spawn point killing Alliance all the time, but go outside it where you can engage in 2x2, 5x5, 15x15, or even bigger fights all the time (or perhaps 2x8, lol), its pretty fun. Not sure how long PTRs gonna be up, tho. Corpses everywhere, skeletons everywhere, people everywhere. Well, almost everywhere. Its just epicly fun. But its mostly that zone or when some raid raids some enemy city. But they will go offline soon, I think. If you still wish to join the fight - /w Trustx on PTR PvP, Horde side.

On the live servers I didnt really engage in too many world PvP - mostly raiding some enemy city or Halaa. Most of them were 1x1, dont think Ive engaged into battles that has more then 5 people on some clear area. But yeah, BGs mostly ruined the world PvP and those towers, Halaa, or whatever else they have putted into game wont fix them that good. Hoping that Blizzard maybe will think of something. Battlegrounds are fun, but needs more world PvP!

and my main is a rogue

but i'm leveling a paladin right now so i thought i would try it out

I'm running a world pvp guild on frostmane (horde) we haven't started yet though but im 69, so weekly raids should be coming soon. Were going to start with small towns then work our way up. The biggest problem though that has ruined world pvp is how a guard spawns for every person in the raid. SOOOO many f'ing guards on top of alliance makes it hard. But we have some cool ideas to make the server a bit more fun. Cant wait to have 50 of us running off the boat into Theramore =]. World pvp is so much more fun though then staying in a contained area, theirs so much in the wow environment that makes pvp fun (cliffs, buildings, lakes etc) its boring being in a battleground and having a limit to where you can go and fighting where you have fought for the last couple games.


but hey im the kinda guy that mind controls alliance off boats right before the loading screen in the middle of the ocean, some my views are kinda different then the "omg lets run the same instance every night until i get my whole set" type of person.

Also ive realized its really hard to get a good world raid going because of the pve whores, they have taken over wow =/.

Lol i remember epic fights in Hillsbrad and Tarren Mill. Those were fun days, and people back then could NOT wait for BG's.. Then a few months after BGs came around they cried for more World PvP. Easiest way to start wolrd PvP on your server (Pvp or Pve doesnt matter)? Get 10 lvl 70s together and completely annihlate all the guards in any horde/alliance zone.. The opposition will come you just have to start the fight

The biggest problem though that has ruined world pvp is how a guard spawns for every person in the raid.

Is it just while in raid?
